Details:

  • Faerie orbs give off a glimmering sort of light and may also display subtle particle trails.

Lore:

  • This type of crown has some mobility, but can only occupy the space around an Elnin's head (resting on an ear, floating in different positions, etc). Spellform

Spellform

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Spellforms are similar to sigil crowns except that they are more structured in appearance, containing a border to contain it entirely.

Trait Examples
crown-spellform-1.jpg Spellform
crown-spellform-2.jpg Spellform
crown-spellform-3.jpg Spellform

Details:

  • Are bound within some type of design border (most often circular, but can have angular boundaries as well).
  • Spellforms can have multiple sections as long as they are all connected, and can contain symbols in both vertical and horizontal alignments.
  • Can also contain lines that create specific imagery (stars, moons, etc).

Mobility:

  • This type of crown is not exactly mobile, but it can bloom if based on flowers, or wilt or shift colors if it has leaves (following natural seasonal shadings).
Classic Diadem

Classic Diadem

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 1

Similar in appearance to a traditional crown or tiara.

Mini Guides
crown-guide-diadems-incorrect.png Note: There are some legacy Classic Diadem crowns that have shaped accent stones but will not be allowed going forward.

Details:

  • There shouldn't be any attachments to the crown that look like specific things (wings/flowers/etc).
  • The metal should be ordinary silver or any of the "yellow range" metals such as gold/bronze/copper and the like.
  • Can have either a single smallish sized attached accent stone or up to three tiny sized attached accent stones. The stone(s) should not have a specific shape (for example: no hearts or stars), and should be the same color as the elnin's anima.
  • Crowns should be simple in shape and mirrored on both sides.

Lore:

  • Classic crowns are considered the original, truest versions of each crown type. These closely resemble the oldest forms of elnin crowns.

Legacy

  • Previously Simple Traditional.
Flora

Flora

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Resembles a diminutive living plant or flower.

Trait Examples
crown-flora-1.jpg Flora
crown-flora-2.jpg Flora
crown-flora-3.jpg Flora

Details:

  • Flora crowns can cycle through the natural lifecycle of that flora.
  • Flowers should generally be no more than two (2) main flowers and a few buds.
    • Accompanying foliage is OK and won't read as a second plant as long as the foliage is cohesive/make sense. If it looks like it is a second plant then it is not acceptable.
      • YES: Roses with Thorns, Cherry Blossom with Branch/Twig.
      • NO: Tulip with Thorns, Cherry Blossoms with Ferns.
  • Only one stage of growth can be displayed at a time (no flowers and fruit together).

Mobility:

  • This type of crown is not exactly mobile, but it can bloom if based on flowers, or wilt or shift colors if it has leaves (following natural seasonal shadings).

Lore:

  • Flora crowns are actual plants, and can lose petals or provide pollen just like any other type of plant.
  • A fruit crown could, theoretically, be eaten, but it would be exceptionally disturbing for most elnins (not quite cannibalism level weirdness, but it would be like if someone wanted to eat your hair or fingernail clippings).

Legacy:

  • Previously known as "Living", split from "Orbital"
Fauna

Fauna

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Resembles a diminutive living creature, not sentient. Can be things like fish, bugs, birds, frogs, etc. Any small, relatively simple animal would be acceptable.

Trait Examples
crown-fauna-1.jpg Axolotl
crown-fauna-2.jpg Bat
crown-fauna-3.jpg Fish

Details:

  • Rule of Palm: The creature in a fauna crown should be able to fit in the palm of your hand in its real-world equivalent. So something like a deer would obviously not fit in the palm of your hand, even if it's drawn to be miniature it would still not be allowed.
  • The designs of the animals should be simplified, rather than true-to-life versions. For example if your creature is a snake, you should not be drawing every scale on it and nictitating eyelids.
  • A small fantasy tweak can be added to the creature, but overall it should be a recognizable real-world animal. If you are submitting a fantasy-esque creature design please be aware that, if approved, it would be accepted into the canon of Eyre and considered a part of the World of Eyre. Any fauna crown creature design would be able to be drawn by other community members in prompts and activities.
  • Fauna crowns should not have more than one animal.
  • Bioluminescent fauna are acceptable for a crown as long as it remains on the crown and not be mistaken for another mutation or trait.

Lore:

  • This type of crown has some mobility, but can only occupy the space around an Elnin's head (resting on an ear, floating in different positions, etc). It cannot sit on the shoulder or back and must stay around the head.  This does not currently apply to masterlist art. Please keep fauna crowns on the masterlist floating above the elnin's head.

Legacy:

  • Previously known as "Mimic", split from "Orbital"
Cloudlet

Cloudlet

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Resembles a small cloud or wisp of smoke.

Trait Examples
cloudlet-1.jpg Example 1
cloudlet-2.jpg Example 2

Details:

  • Can be any color or combination of colors.
  • Cloudlet crowns can have some particle effects, but should not have any additional features such as "eyespots" or solid items like moons/stars/suns/etc in them.
  • Swirl designs are fine, but any pattering else you wouldn't normally associate with a little puff of smoke should be avoided.
  • Must only be one  wisp / cloud. The cloudlet should not be broken up into multiple pieces.
    • Exception: a Hybrid Cloudlet crown can contain multiple cloudlets.

Legacy:

  • Split from Elemental / Wisp
Witchlight

Witchlight

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Treasure crowns are the upgraded version of Trinket crowns.

Trait Examples
crown-witchlight-1.jpg Witchlight
crown-witchlight-2.jpg Witchlight
crown-witchlight-3.jpg Witchlight

Details:

  • Can be any color or combination of colors.
  • Witchlight crowns can have some particle/glow effects.
  • Fire edges should appear sharp to avoid being confused for a cloudlet crown!
  • Any patterning you wouldn't normally associate with a little ball of fire should be avoided.
  • There should be no eyespots present.

Lore:

  • Elnins can use witchlight crowns to ignite items stuck into them at will, and the resulting flame will burn the color of the crown for quite some time before eventually returning to the orange hues of an ordinary fire. This means that an elnin with a witchlight crown is often a welcome member of any expeditionary party, since they can light a campfire with very little fuss.

Legacy:

  • Split from "Elemental/Wisp".
  • "Eyespots" are a legacy feature and are no longer allowed on normal witchlight crowns. Ex: (ELN141ELN625 )
Treasure

Treasure

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 4

Treasure crowns are the upgraded version of Trinket crowns.

Trait Examples
crown-treasure-1.jpg Treasure
crown-treasure-2.jpg Treasure
crown-treasure-3.jpg Treasure

Details:

  • Treasure crowns are:
    • Complex items
    • Items that are large in size
    • A mix of different items that read as one cohesive item.
    • An item accompanied by very minimal jewelry embellishments.
  • Treasure crowns should be attached as one piece.
  • Treasure crowns may not resemble weapons without knight or champion training.
  • If there are diadem traits shown as a part of a treasure crown, then it will be considered a hybrid crown. If you want to do a plush crown, that’s acceptable here as it is not acceptable in the diadem tier.

Legacy:

  • Previously known as Item/Bauble/Trinket.
Trinket

Trinket

Species: Elnin
Category: Crown

Crown MP: 3

Trinket crowns are small and simple items or shapes.

Trait Examples
trinket-3.jpg A Shell
trinket-1.jpg Simple Star Shapes
trinket-2.jpg A Simple Skull

Details:

  • In order to be simple enough to classify as a Trinket crown instead of a Treasure crown your design must be either only 1 material or only 2 colors.
    • If there is more than 1 material, there must be 2 or less colors.
      • Colors should stay as flat as possible and not involve strong gradients to count as "1 color".
    • If there is more than 2 colors, there must be only 1 material.
      • "Material" is flexible. It could be something you would normally think of like wood, stone, cloth, or it could be something like candy! It should just be something homogeneous.
  • The item should only be one distinct object. Not one object on top of or attached to another object.
  • You can have up to three of the same item if they are identical in appearance (you may vary their size a bit though).
  • Avoid engravings as they often add more intricacy/detail to a design that might push it into Treasure rather than Trinket.
  • To avoid being mistaken for Fauna or Flora crowns, Trinkets should be inanimate/not living.  This also means they should not resemble something animate or living. For example a metal leaf would not be allowed.
    • Exceptions: shells, a bone, a skull
  • If it's a food item make it clearly food and not just raw meat / animal parts
  • Trinket crowns cannot resemble weapons.

Legacy:

  • Previously 4MP. Split into Trinket / Treasure to account for varying design complexity.
