This elnin feeds on living mana, which she can deliberately siphon from any (unshielded/willing) living creature on Eyre. If she does not feed for an extended period of time her colors will slowly dull until she enters a feral state, in which feeding becomes her only concern. Generally this form of vampirism is considered non-lethal, and tolerated in most cities as the "victim" recovers from the event after only a few days rest (as long as she is prudent about her appetite). The Vampiric Curse itself is not hereditary but has the potential to manifest as the Demon's Brand mutation in offspring from this elnin.
