Having finished her trip in Silveil, Mizuki was ready to head home. At least, that was her plan, but since she was in Silveil, which wasn’t far from Faerindell. Perhaps she should swing by to greet Fuwa, and also check out the mana well there, as her curiosity had been piqued from visiting Silveil’s.

And so, after returning to Silveil City to say her goodbyes to Luna and Lumia, she set out towards the verdant farmland. Her eyes widened the moment she saw pink foliage upon the horizon, signaling that she was now in Farindell. Lush green grass was all around her, and in the distance, she could spot the bountiful farmlands, tended by what she had assumed were Sylvans, the main occupants in Faerindell. She hadn’t made any personal acquaintance with them yet. Fuwa had told her that while they weren’t unfriendly to strangers, they tended to be wary.

Well, perhaps she would save that thought for another day. That wasn’t why she had come here, and-

A flash of pink caught her eye, and Mizuki blinked. She looked up to see a small cat-like creature flying through the air, their fur color a rosy pink hue that rivaled the sakura blooms of this region. They did a somersault in the air, having noticed Mizuki.

“Nyaa~”

As if beckoning her to follow, they continued to flit playfully through the air while moving farther away. Was that… an elseworlder? She supposed she shouldn’t be surprised considering she had already encountered a snaptrap in the waters of Ealei, but she had never seen something like this before. A winged cat-like creature that soared through the air, aided by their arm wings that helped them pick up flight. It made her think it was some sort of cross between a flying squirrel, cat, and bird, but their appearance didn’t seem all that much different from elnins. They even had a full head of hair, which swayed gently in the wind.

Deciding to follow suit, Mizuki followed the strange creature, which seemed to pause here and there to make sure the undine was following. Was it leading her towards Elenion? Rather than leading her into town, it seemed to be heading towards Faerindell’s eldertree. As Mizuki got closer, her eyes widened.

It seemed there was already an occupant napping at the base of the tree, yet this wasn’t just anyone. While she had never seen her in person before today, she had certainly heard about her. Sunleth, the Sylvan Queen… While they shared the same name, she was sure this didn’t mean that she ruled over the Sylvans, and rumors were that the queen was quite elusive, and yet, if someone should truly need to seek her out, it wouldn’t be unheard of for them to just suddenly stumble upon her during their journey.

She also heard that she aided elnin in balancing their mana, harmonizing it through naps. The process of it seemed quite curious, but she supposed it wasn’t too different from being a form of meditation, and Sunleth being a royal, there were things that only she could do, with her abundant amounts of mana. She’d also heard of another royal who offered his services in helping elnin regulate their flow of mana, yet the process for this was quite… rough. If anything, Mizuki saw it more as a form of anger control, as elnins not being able to properly harness abundant amounts of mana could be prone to mood swings, but the destruction of property seemed rather… excessive.

While Mizuki wasn’t aware of it herself, perhaps her visit to the mana well had unstabilized her own mana flow. She hadn’t felt any discomfort yet, but considering that the Sylvan Queen was right there, it couldn’t hurt to spend some time with her. It was no secret that many elnin, kittoms and adults alike looked up to Sunleth, herself included, and many would give anything just to have an encounter with her.

Having been lost in thought, Mizuki completely forgot about the elseworlder, who was patiently waiting nearby. When she turned her attention towards it, the pink creature let out another “nya”, and flew off.

“Ah, wait!”

Had it just been leading her to Sunleth? Mizuki would have loved to have gotten to know the creature better, but perhaps there would be another time for that. She made her way towards Sunleth, and sat down. The sunlight filtering through the leaves above left dappled spots on ground, slightly warm to the touch. She noticed a couple fell over the turquoise nin, which must have felt nice amidst the shade of the canopy. The breeze was quite pleasant too, and now that she was near Sunleth, Mizuki couldn’t help but start feeling sleepy.

“Please excuse me, your majesty…”

The undine stifled a yawn, snuggling a little closer to Sunleth’s massive tail. Even with both of them being elfin, Mizuki was sure Sunleth’s tail could probably house several kittoms, and was certain a few had already made a pillow out of the silky strands of fur.

As she closed her eyes and dozed off, she felt her breathing slow, as it fell in rhythm to Sunleth’s soft snoring. She supposed Biri was also napping with them, as she felt a bundle of fur press against her with quiet chirps. So much had happened on her trip, and while meeting a Royal hadn’t been planned, it wasn’t an encounter she would forget anytime soon.
