"What is THAT?"
Eyresians are still wondering.
As best anyone can tell?
"Liar's Birch" is a rare, stumpy bush found in the depths of Bellmoril's forests. Good thing too, because every part of this plant is poisonous. The "bark", supposedly meant to mimic birch trees, does little to fool anyone given the bizarre shape of the bush otherwise- to say nothing of the noxious sap that oozes from its middle. Despite the berries' colourful allure and sweet scent, they're loaded with even more potent toxins. When the wind blows nearby, the uncanny sound of whistling can be heard as air rattles through its missing core. All manner of superstitions and legends surround this dreadful thing, and one of the most popular goes thusly:
"Many moons ago, a Thief stole the heart of the Liar fair.
Thenceforth, only could the Liar weep for its despair.
Sweets and song are offered to any who come near,
But an unkind fate is the only gift of the Liar, I fear."
