[Flora] Weeping Hydra is the name of a Palu'au-native fly-trap that strongly resembles seaweed that's been washed into the sandy shores. It ranges from one to two feet in height, and most commonly sports three fronds that earn its leafy heads the 'hydra' nickname. At night time, the plant is fairly limp and flopped over the ground. In the heat and sunlight, the plant will unfurl and emit a strikingly rancid scent of spoiled meat to attract insects, which get trapped in its sticky underside. While carnivorous (and smelly), the plant is harmless to anything other than tiny bugs.
