A great majority of the Ahza's deserts lay barren. Clear skies with a blazing sun hanging in the sky makes the day time hot and unbearable during the day, while the night brings a freezing cold that can't easily be hidden from.

However, several species of flora manage to find a home in the harsh climate of Ahza's deserts. When creatures succumb to the climate and perish, there's a plant that takes advantage of the situation. A strange plant, nicknamed 'Rotted Vine', can be found growing around the remains of those who have departed this world.

Rotted Vines spring from the ground around bones of any time, regardless of if the bones are fresh or bleached white from many days underneath the sun. It's still being researched whether the seeds of the plant can detect the presence of organic material by pressure in the sand or some sort of 'scent'. Regardless, in a short amount of time vines sprout from the seeds that lay in the sand and begin to grow around the bone. If the bone is small then it doesn't take long for the vines to grow around it, while larger bones may take weeks for the vines to fully grow and wrap itself around the bone.

The vines themselves are a sickly pale green. At first glance they appear to be brittle, but upon touch the vines do not snap or crumble. They typically feel like a lush, bright green vine would. Even the leaves, which also appear pale in various shades of greens and browns, are soft to the touch. Unlike other desert flora, these vines do not hold any thorns. the vines themselves are very sturdy and can withstand a great deal of tugging and slashing before tearing apart. If one doesn't mind touching bones and using a little bit of strength, one can use the vines as makeshift rope.
