After an attempt to grab a shard, resulting in a not-so-plesant experience, Fitz resorts to having his pomu handle it instead.
He watches as the pomu turns to stone, still holding onto the foreboding shard.

Seeing as his pomu could only hold one shard at a time, he imagined it would take some time to purify them all, but he supposed it was something he could put up with if it meant returning his beloved, uncorrupted home to him.
