It was a sunny day in the Palu'au Islands, where the white sandy beaches were warm and the clear blue waters were cool to strive off the day’s heat. There was a small hut close by with a roof made of fronds, and outside of it was a white kittom with cute little brown spots, a colorful tuft of hair, colorful leg fur, and beautiful rainbow colored tail, who had crafting material before him. The young kittom had a very focused expression as he went about his crafting, paper scattered so wide for one so small.

Standing at the entryway of the hut was the little kittom's mother who had a faint smile on as she watched her wee one with his task, her glistening pomu crystal hovering just behind her shoulder as it always did. She moved closer to him as if to get a better look at what he was doing. "Ambrose, honey, what are you working on? You seem ever so focused and entranced with your work sweetheart." The mother cooed to her son sweetly as she continued her examination of his project.

Smiling softly at the inquiry of his mother, the sweet little kittom looked up from his project, which currently consisted of cutting out some hearts that were a bit rough around the edges, but still obvious as to what they were. "I want to make you a lantern Momma! You deserve something pretty for all your hard-work as my mother. It's the least I could do to show my love and appreciation!" He stated simply with a broad, heart-warming smile. "Pepper and Briar were making some too, for their pomu crystals. So I figured I could do the same for you."

Melusine smiled brightly, her heart swelling at her son's kindness in his thoughts and actions for the lantern. Looking down at Ambrose as the kittom continued on with his work, she could not help, but to appreciate having such a sweet son as him. “That is very sweet of you, darling. You are working so hard, I am sure it is going to be absolutely beautiful, just like your heart is.” She smiled sweetly as she watched Ambrose continue his work of cutting out hearts. Pondering for a moment, she recalled some fabric she had that he could use as well, if he so wished, “Ambrose, dear, I think I have some nice fabric that you could use as well for the lantern.” she remarked, making her way back into their hut to fetch the fabric.

After several minutes, Melusine came back out with a soft, red wine fabric that had small black embroidered roses on it. She sat it down by her son, who twitched his ears and looked at the fabric in utter awe. "Oh momma this is really pretty! Are you sure it would be okay for me to use it for the lantern?" Ambrose questioned his green-yellow eyes shining brightly as he looked up at his mother who simply nodded her head with a small smile. This fabric was absolutely perfect for the lantern in his mind and he was very much excited that his mother had offered it to him.

"I would not have offered you the fabric my dear if I was not sure about allowing you to use it. Do you need any help with anything else for the lantern sweetie? I am more than happy to help you out with whatever you need." Melusine offered to her son, her aquamarine hued eyes glistening with pride at her son's hard work on the lantern and his excitement in making it.

Ambrose shook his head vigorously at his mother’s questioning with a gleaming smile on his face. “That should be everything, momma! Thank you so much for your help and the fabric!” he exclaimed excitedly, moving on to create two circles with firm board as he began to construct the lantern for Melusine’s pomu crystal.

Melusine stayed close by as Ambrose started to slowly put the lantern together, moving to check if the circles of board would fit nicely around the tip and base of Melusine’s pomu crystal. She was proud of him for his dedication to his project and very touched by his hard work for her. A few tears came to her eyes, tears of happiness at raising such a sweet little son.
