Summer passes quietly in the small region of Faerindell, where the trees have gradually taken on a little greener colors, even if you can still see a few pink leaves coloring them in a beautiful harmony. The people of Faerindell enjoyed the most of the many festivals that took place during these months when the sun shone brightly. The last festival night at the end of this season came quickly, with Oletta preparing a dance solo as the last performance for the last party.

 

Her friend Isa joined her in the afternoon, the two girls chatting at a small cafe in the town of Elenion while tasting the pastries it sells. Oletta tells her everything that has happened in the last few days .. And it must be said that a certain Elnin often comes back to their discussions.

 

- And that's where Katsuki taught me to do that! His training is really beneficial, I was able to gain strength, agility and I feel much more comfortable when I dance now ...!

 

Isa looks at her very kindly in the eyes, but still gives an amused smile.

 

- It's a real chance that you could meet him my dear. For having seen him a few times, even if he keeps away from the others and looks a little ... boorish sometimes, we can see that he is still a nice guy ~

 

- Of course !! Well, we argue a few times, that's normal, he has a... Very particular personality! And I don't let him step on my toes! But it's so nice to spend time by his side ...

 

- And I have the impression that he also appreciates your company. I haven't seen other girls chatting with him ... ~

 

Oletta then looks away, a little embarrassed.

 

- O-Ohhh ... No, I think he still has to hang out with other elnins ... usually we only see each other when we meet, but I imagine he has other friends, both girls and boys!

Isa comes to support her head with one of her hands, this time looking at her with a very interested air.

Oletta looks at her in confusion for a moment before she blushes strongly.

Oletta then remains thoughtful for a long time, not knowing what to say to her friend. It's been a few months since she first met Katsuki and hadn't really thought about this stuff. She loves the moments when they are together, training, discussing, having a picnic surrounded by Fairy Shrouds ... And given Katsuki's personality, she feels very happy to be able to rub shoulders with him so freely. Her thoughts are cut off by a little pink leaf that lands on her nose, making Isa burst out laughing.

- Ahaha! You know, you don't have to worry so much honey ~ There's nothing wrong with wanting to be closer to him ... You just need to be clear with your feelings.

 

Oletta nods before playing with her hands, nervous.

 

- Well ... come to think of it ... I ... I already thought it would be good, if I could be against him ... or ... that he considers me someone special ... And when I see it ... I'm so happy that my heart might stop beating ...

 

She looks up to Isa.

 

- Do you think ...?

 

- Yes, I think so ... It's indeed love, Oletta, that you feel for him. It's been a while since it can be seen in your eyes ... How you talk about him, when you're all happy after one of your dates ... I know it's a first for you, but you mustn't be afraid, on the contrary. Cherish these feelings from the bottom of your heart, it will only be brighter for you ~

 

Isa claps her hands with enthusiasm.

 

- Well ! You will have to plan something so that you can declare your love to him!

 

The two girls continue to chat, Isa offering several ideas to Oletta and advising her on how to confess her feelings. Reluctant at first, it doesn't last so long before she gives up.

As the two friends stroll through town, arriving not far from the central plaza where Oletta's last dance will take place, they spot an elnin with very long flowing, colorful hair, iridescent highlights dotting her fur and fluffy tail. Oletta smiles as she recognizes her and sees her surrounded by little kittoms.

 

- Isa, look over there, it's Aile! She seems to tell a story to the little ones, would you like to go and listen to her too?

 

- Of course ! It makes me very happy to see her !

 

They will therefore listen to the butterfly elnin, all the little kittoms around them are listening to her attentively. She tells a legend concerning a small fairy which would have lived in the forest, presenting all the beautiful aspects of its history. She ends with the legend of fairy wings to conclude her story.

 

- And so, the little fairy decided to sacrifice the object which belonged to her friend, praying to see her wish granted ... This was the very first wish that was granted and since then, many elnins are sometimes desperately looking for fairy wing in order to have their dearest wish granted. The little fairy was able to find her friend and they continued to live lots of adventures together ... but that will be for another story! ~

The kittoms seem to be quite excited as Aile ends her story like this, but promises to tell them the rest soon. Everyone applauds and Aile finally notices Oletta and Isa not far away. Herears are raised with joy and she quickly greets them after having escaped from the kittoms.

The three elnins spend the rest of the afternoon together, Aile telling them about her travels, exchanging with Isa and Oletta enthusiastically. They take the opportunity to chat about the latest gossip together, Oletta completely forgetting her embarrassment about Katsuki, or the stress for the evening when she will dance all alone on stage. They walk around until Oletta has to leave them, to return to her little house just a little outside of town to change her clothes before the show, night having already fallen. Along the way, she allows allow herself a little detour, in order to contemplate her favorite flower beds. As her thoughts slowly return to Katsuki and the discussion with Isa, her attention is diverted when she arrives in a small clearing she had forgotten existed ... and when she sees small white mushrooms making a particular shape.

 

- No ... I'm not dreaming ... Would it really be ...?

 

As she approaches a little more, she sees that it is indeed a fairy wing. Captivated and curious, she unconsciously walks towards the center of the circle while looking at the small mushrooms around her. They then start to shine with a magical glow, a few fireflies appear and start to spin around Oletta, as if they were inviting her to make a wish. Oletta hesitates, seriously considering the question for a little while.

I don't want to become an annoyance to him in the future ... If my feelings were to grow and I couldn't control them anymore ... I might suffer more ... So .. . Maybe it would be better if I put an end to it as soon as possible ... but ... If I'm lucky, maybe he too ...?

 

She shakes her head, one of her hands comes to holf the pendant that Katsuki had given her, her heart squeezes.

 

But I don't know if I would have enough courage to tell him ... and I don't want to lose the one thing that connects me to him ... However .... would I have another opportunity to gain in courage to confess ...?

 

Oletta closes her eyes, taking a breath to calm herself. She opens them again and then removes her necklace, relying on a kiss on the pendant before kneeling, to address her prayer.

 

- To the forest spirits who protect us ... I am calling and begging you to answer my prayer ... Allow me to have the courage to confess to him my true feelings towards him and to face his answer worthily, whether I am sad or on the contrary, the happiest ... Give me the lucidity and the words that I need so that I can transmit ... my love to him…

The fireflies then start to shine much more and to multiply. The necklace leaves the hands of the elnin and begins to float in the air, as well as to glow softly before disappearing in a shower of lights. The fireflies gradually stop dancing and disappear altogether, the mushrooms returning to their original appearance. Oletta then stands up, raising her head to the sky to gaze at the night sky, filled with determination and bringing a hand to her heart.

- Katsuki ... I'll talk to you tonight. I can't let the magic fade away by continuing to hesitate. And even if he doesn't feel the same... We can still see each other as friends.

 

A smile appears on her face before the Elnin starts running back home, determined and her mind filled with joy, apprehension too... but also with love.
