- his mother was poisoned when she was pregnant (tossed into the overwilds? literal daeva crystal ground up and put in her food? unsure), which led to him being born extremely weak, ill, and already afflicted with major symptoms of mana poisoning. his mother passed away not long after. in time, it became clear that he was a slow learner, being unable to speak for several years. his mother's family didn't want him, but out of obligation to her, they "raised" him.  despite living in a lavish home, he was kept with the servants and hidden away when guests stopped in. while still a kittom, he ran away from home, and will someday make a name for himself as one of Eyre's most dangerous residents, with his uncanny ability to sniff out any secrets that one might want to keep from seeing the light of day.

- adopted/cared for by sanzu, who both taught him to read and write, as well as provided ongoing treatment for his many health problems. 

my son who has every disease. hopefully will get him a deputy chief feng  to argue with once the feathered subtype comes out. >:)
