Half of Nic's attempts at learning how to make wards, talismans, and other protective magics revolves around trying to make things for her friends to keep them safe. Anything from preventing bee stings, to anti-stranger-danger, to stuff to shoo away storms and icky stuff... and of course plenty of little charms to promote happy things in life. Early in her life, such things are more make-believe, little attempts by a kittom who just wants her friends to feel better. Later on, though. . . .

She tries to hide her competitive and petty sides, but they seep through now and then despite her attempts at otherwise--watch out for her passive-aggressive remarks.
