Saga had been exploring the edge of a small town in Bellmoril when the odd storm hit. She’d never seen anything like it. Streaks of light fell from the sky leaving a soft glow where they struck before dissipating entirely. Hiding beneath the gnarls of some branches she observed her surroundings. The small orange and red mushrooms seem unaffected, as did the warmly colored leaves that covered the forested area. The storm was mysterious and so Saga wasn’t sure if she could entirely trust it. Slowly and carefully inching her way out from the branches and tree roots she stuck close to the tree trunks where the odd falling bits could not reach her. They looked like light, however she couldn’t actually see if there was something at their centers, and when the light dissipated entirely there was nothing left behind.

Saga feared it might be dangerous, but it was interesting enough she sat beneath the trees and watched a while. She could see the colorful light through some of the orange leaves, tinging them hues that could not normally be seen in Bellmoril, though the effect was fleeting and just a trick of the light. Staring at the storm she wondered if Tetra was somewhere else watching a similar scene. Tetra had to leave Bellmoril for a while so Saga couldn’t help but worry a little. She would write her friend a letter about it, she thought quietly to herself. The matter was just to get home safely now. For the most part she could stick to beneath the thick trees. The real problem appeared with the last stretch before she could reach the town buildings again. The trees weren’t close enough to the stone walled buildings. Their brown shingled roofs were holding up just fine though.

Saga felt as though she had no choice but to run. Maybe if she was fast enough nothing would touch her, and then nothing bad could happen to her. Her green pelt was a stark cool contrast to the forest here but the overcast sky seemed to dim the saturated colors of her coat and the surrounding foliage. Closing her eyes she ran, inspiring confidence in herself until she felt her paw touch a moss covered stone and cause her legs to slide out from under her. The wind was knocked out of her, but more to her horror she was sure she wouldn’t go unscathed now. Clenching her eyes shut she waited to be hit, not sure what to expect. When she felt nothing though she opened a curious eye to look at her coat. A few bits of light had landed on it and faded. At her paws was a soft green glow of a light streak that must have fallen. She couldn’t help but marvel at how beautiful it was, a nice soft teal hue that was close to the color of her fur in a spot or two.

Her unease seemed to have been quelled though with this discovery. She was absolutely fine, much to her relief. That meant Tetra would also probably be fine. All the same Saga thought it might not be so bad to write a letter. Hurrying inside she disclosed some of her findings in recent months, mentioning a handful of odd shaped orange mushrooms she had found in a cave, and some cream ones as well. Then she looked at the storm outside. She couldn’t help but mention how peculiar the weather was but it was an experience she wanted to share with Tetra if her kittom friend hadn’t experienced it already. With that in mind Tetra was intentionally vague. “Come visit Bellmoril soon. I want to show you something, but it might take a while.” She wrote, hoping Tetra’s guardian would let her stay here for a while. Saga missed their time together. Even a month would feel brief. With that in mind she mailed the letter and waited to see if a response was sent.
