The flower that Shale was looking at, was weird. It didn't exactly look like the rest of the flowers that hung from the tree in willow like fashion in bright pinks, but it seemed to be making an attempt to blend its reds and violets into the mass sea of pinks around it. Its stem had slithered down the hanging flowers of the pink tree in Faerindell, so far down where the flowers, that they almost hung over the ground underneath, some trees creating curtains of pastel wonder over the grass, and the kittom wondered what it would feel like to sleep there, under that blanket and the stars.

Still, the flower had nothing to do with the tree. It was simply using it, and Shale wondered where it was hooked, where it's roots were, because the stem twisted down from the top of the tree. It made him wonder if the stem crept up the bark of the tree... and then down one of the branches. It almost looked like a predator, in a way, bright and camouflaged within the see of the tree's flowers, waiting for something, and Shale tilted his head as he watched it.

It took him a while to realize why it gave him that strange impression; it wasn't until a random bee got too close that Shale realized exactly what was going on. He watched the insect land on the petals of the leaf, which at first, didn't so much as tremble, and then, after a moment's breath, they snapped shut around the bee like a trap had been set off. The flower seemed to retreat slightly into the mass of flowers, and there it stayed, holding the bee prisoner, likely slowly eating it.

It was some sort of carnivorous plant, no doubt making a living by hiding among the flowers of the tree.
