A lone kittom sleeps soundly in a bed at a local inn. She's wrapped herself around in the blankets to the point where if someone were to enter, they'd have no idea where the kittom began...or where the blankets end. She's quiet in her sleep and unless you're paying very close attention you would almost think she was a doll. Her fur is mostly white but with streaks of blue and pink, casting a gradient as it travels down. Yes indeed, all is quiet this morning...until it is not. A shadowy figure emerges from the crafted blanket fort and chaos ensues.

"Ahk, knock it off!"

The kittom, Izumi, tumbles from her bed onto the hard floor. She's grumpy from the looks of it and shoots a pointed glare at her pomu who is now standing triumphantly at the top of the blanket pile. The little pomu snickers at the misfortune it has caused and then slides down the bed to join Izumi on the floor. The pomu is excited and waving its small arms about in a frantic manner pointing to the window and then back to Izumi with a variety of chittering strung throughout the ordeal.

"Yeah, yeah, I know I overslept. Stop pestering me or else we really won't be going out today at all!" Izumi stretches while she speaks, stifling (and failing to) a yawn. The dynamic duo had arrived in a local town in Faerindell just the other day. The bright and beautiful region is a stark difference from the cold and barren land the Izumi has known throughout her kittomhood. So the change is a welcome one. Sleeping far past the sun's rise is just one of those things that happen when you're truly relaxed. However, Izumi's pomu has had other plans and has been an absolute menace to the kittom in the mornings. Shaking off the last of the morning sleepiness, Izumi heads into town.

Izumi is just barely out the door when she stumbles over something very round and even more oddly placed.

"What on Eyre..."

Izumi's rubbed her paws together, sore from having to suddenly catch her weight on the ground. She's confused for a moment, and then even more confused when she spots what exactly she tripped over. Which appears to be...an egg? Izumi tilts her head to observe the object more closely. The egg itself is a soft green color, with an almost yellow glow. Swirls adorn the face and when Izumi reaches her paw across the surface, she can feel faint groves along the pattern. The egg is swaddled in a leaf that feels velvety to the touch and a delicate blue cord keeps the whole thing together. Izumi is confused by the egg that's roughly the shape of her very own pomu, and turns to her companion ready to inquire about the strange object. When she looks, however, her pomu seems just as perplexed as she is! Her small companion inches closer to the egg and begins to inspect the object on its own. Izumi sighs, looks like she isn't going to be getting any sort of guidance or clarity from her pomu. She looks around the vicinity, to see if there's any sight or trace of who (...or what?) might have left the egg at her doorstep. But the green grass and pink trees just sway softly in the gentle breeze, answering none of her questions and only instilling more curiosity.

Well, Izumi reasons with herself, that she can't just leave the egg here out in the open. Clearly, the warmth inside the egg indicates that there is something alive within the shell and she's not exactly keen on wanting to be public enemy number one if she were to leave and something nefarious was to happen to the shelled objected. With tactical assistance from her pomu, Izumi delicately lifts the egg into a makeshift sack and ties it securely around her waist. Maybe she can head into town and see if one of the locals knows about the mysterious origins of the egg.

Izumi wanders the streets, taking in the sights and sounds that are unique to Faerindell. The bright bursts of color are something that she's not very used to, but she's happy to see them all the same. Thankfully she doesn't seem to suffer from any allergies, as there is a plethora of florals in bloom. She's quite certain there must be a high pollen count here, although it doesn't seem like any of the resident locals suffer from an allergic fate.

"That's a curious find you've got there young one."

Izumi turns her attention to the voice and is greeted by the smiling face of a yellow Elnin. Their dark hair has streaks of white and blue and two bee wings adorn her back. Blue eyes seem to almost glow and the yellow ring around the pupil is exotic. Izumi is drawn to the stand by the elfin Elnin hanging out there, and she gives a hesitant glance at the adult before placing the egg on the top of the stand carefully.

"You know what this is?"

Faera, Izumi learns her name after a brief introduction, laughs (which sounds like bells chiming in the wind, Izumi thinks) and gives another grin at the small kittom.

"It's a special egg...somebody must have thought that you needed another friend. I won't spoil any surprises...but why don't you hold onto it for awhile. Keep it safe, you'll be rewarded soon enough."

Izumi nods, glancing down again to the egg in front of her. She wraps it back up carefully and thanks the kind adult for their guidance. She's not exactly certain she needed another friend, but she's also not the type of kittom to turn her back on somebody in need.

Later in the night Izumi works diligently to make a comfortable spot for the egg to rest. A few carefully curled blankets later and she's pleased with her work. Her pomu also gives a satisfactory nod of approval. When Izumi goes to bed that night she's soothed by the subtle warmth and scent of moss coming from the still mysterious egg.
