One bright morning, Ren cracked her window open to smell the fresh air and heard some bustling. It seemed that something had been happening all across Eyre. Normally Ealei was a more quiet place in the morning but for some odd reason, noise could be heard from miles away. It quickly sprung the kittom out of bed to see what the commotion was all about. When she came to open the door and peek at the action going on outdoors, she almost stepped on something. She felt something touch her paw and to her surprise who would leave something just in the middle of the doorway for someone to trip on. To her surprise when her eyes lowered to peek at what it was. She saw an egg, one unlike any she had ever seen before. 

At first Ren was afraid to touch it. But after quietly inspecting it she had deemed it wasn’t dangerous. It had this bright limey green colouring with some blue string wrapped around it with a berry of some sort tightly strung to it. Still puzzled, she wondered what an egg was doing just standing in the door. Being a curious little kittom, Ren decided to go find her best friend and inquire about some information on it. Her friend's mother was an alchemist and she was bound to know something. At first Ren was gonna leave the egg where she had found it, afraid that maybe she would break it or that it might mysteriously hatch. But after careful calculations, Ren thought it a bit strange to leave it in the doorway where she had found it. To her horror she started imagining all sorts of scenarios where something would happen to the egg if she left it in its spot. For example: what if the postman accidently stepped on it when he came to deliver the mail. While he mind was racing with all these scenarios the kittom decided it was best to carefully care for it. After all Ren was a mindful kittom right? 

Hearing the frogs croaking, Ren carefully lifted and brought the egg inside. At first she was wondering if it was simply a frog's egg that maybe had been left behind. But after some consideration she had remembered that frogs or fish eggs didn’t resemble anything of the sorts. Her and Ami had spent enough time around the ponds and body waters of Ealei to know as much. Which made her ponder even more what could be preparing to hatch inside this little egg. She had often climbed trees as well at the top of cliffs and saw some birds nests and none of the eggs she had ever seen there had any likeness to the one that was in front of her. That is when she decided that the only way she could get answers was to visit her friend's house. 

Wondering how she could even manage to carry the egg as it didn’t seem smart to simply carry it in her hands all the way to her friend's house. Ami had been visiting with her family at a place they rented all the way at the other end of the village. 

There was no task too hard for this little kittom, rummaging throughout the house she looked around for some sort of container being able to carry this egg. While she looked all over she kept glancing every now and then to see if the egg moved at all or if it had hatched. To her surprise it seemed as still as ever. Never mind the mess she had created in the household she was staying at, she had found what she was looking for. A basket of a perfect shape big enough to carry this egg. She had even been able to attach some rope to it so she could strap it to her back. 

Stepping outside she smelled the fresh breezy air Ealei had to offer. To her there was no other place like it, with the ponds full of lily pads, with some fish swimming freely through its waters. She observed some frogs hopping from one lily pad to the next as she made her way slowly to her friend's house. She even stopped a few times to gather some fresh Manaberries from the trees as she worked out her appetite carrying the little egg in the basket. This was hard work for a small kittom that Ren even stopped to take a quick swim in the pond. She had fun swimming through its clear waters and going around the tree roots and following the school of fish. She had left her basket with the egg in it on a rock near the pond. After feeling refreshed she returned on her path and to her surprise the egg was still intact. Part of her had wanted that egg to hatch while she took a swim. She even wondered if the egg would have benefitted from a swim as well but something had told her that maybe it was best if she didnt wet it. 

She took some time to gather some more manaberries and put them around the egg thinking that maybe if it did hatch it would have a snack around it in case it got hungry. Before she went back to her path she wondered if the egg maybe needed some more heat. Ealei was a decently warm place but one could never know how much warmth this egg might need. She then went to gather a few lily pads and wrapped the egg in it still leaving the fresh manaberries around it. 

Ren was ready to head to her friend's house wondering what sort of surprise awaited her and what this egg might possibly hatch into.
