Big Bradley's are named because they have a large cap that pops out from the top of their stipe. Their dark green color helps to distinguish them from the rest of the foliage around them, but isn't bright enough to bring attention to its presence. The older the mushroom is, the more spots it has! They are safe to eat once their cap has a total of 10 or more spots, fresh Big Bradley's will cause slight stomach discomfort if consumed.
