Caelum was very enthusiastic to say the least. Caelum wanted to complete the ceremony, appreciating the renewal of an old tradition. It seemed so cool that he wanted to take part as well. He insisted he could complete the task without his brother's help, despite concerns that he would drop the poor fish onto the ground and ruin the whole ceremony.

He'd show Helix!

The little white and black kittom with blue and purple stained-glass patterning looked proud as he walked out of the building and hurried downtown with a fishbowl in paw. The stars were bright this afternoon, shining in the dark sky alongside the nebulous tear of light and clouds that sparkled across the cover of night.

The lake was calm today with a lovely breeze that carried the sound of jingling bells from a source that was unknown to the kittom. The glow and sparkle of the lake was beautiful as always and Caelum put the fishbowl down from a moment so that he could truly appreciate the sights. The soft crashing of luminescent waves as they rolled against the shore compelled him to dip his feet into the water and skip around.

After taking considerably longer than he should have, and nearly completely forgetting about the fish... Caelum finally stopped playing around in the water. Gosh, he truly loved Silveil and everything the nigihttime offered. Today it was Starlake water and a glowing fish. The lake had those, right? Of course it did!

First thing first~! He picked up the fishbowl again and filled it up with water from the lake. His blue eyes looked down into the fishbowl as if he expected a fish to just appear in the bowl with the water.

"Erm...."

He shuffled over a little from the shore, enough that the bowl would be close but out of the way. He put it softly down on the sand and stood proudly over it for a moment before turning his attention back to the lake.

Now... how did he get a fish from there into the bowl? He hadn't exactly planned this out. Unlike his brother, Helix, who had done some fishing before, this was completely out of Caelum's wheelhouse.

He looked around, and then he walked into the lake until he was about waist up. It wasn't very far into the lake. He stopped and then stood as motionless as he could. Maybe the fish would just come up to him to say hello and he could just pick it up? Yeah, that was a solid plan!

After ten minutes of standing as still as he could, Caelum gave up completely. He began to splash around until his little paws stomped out of the lake defeated. Why was this so hard?! As he turned to go back to his fishbowl in defeat, he saw his brother Helix standing there holding his fishbowl... and there was a glowing fish inside of it!

"Helix!"

"You caught a great fish, Caelum."

"I did... yes! Of course I did!"

"Shall we go complete the ceremony?"

Caelum's eyes lit up. He looked from the fish to his brother and then he nodded. Helix went to give the fishbowl to Caelum but Caelum shook his head and smiled.

"You better hold it."

The two brothers made their way to the seaside. Upon arrival, they saw many other elnin and races standing on the shore. There were lanterns all along the shore, lighting the way but all the glowing fish in their bowls and various containers lit up the shore as well.

The two brothers stood on the beach, under the stars of the afternoon light. Slowly, Helix pushed the fishbowl toward Caelum and he carefully accepted it from him. Then the two of them walked to the water, and Caelum looked at his brother with a question in his eyes, "Do you think the fish will help the spirit?"

He didn't wait for a response; it was unclear if he ever intended it as an actual question. He walked forward, and walked into the ocean until the water was high enough for him to safely release the fish.

"Good luck!"

He called as the fish swam out of the fishbowl and into the big sea.

A wet Caelum looked proud as he walked to his brother, a job well done plastered on his face.

"Can we stay and watch them release more fish?" Caelum asked, and without waiting for an answer Caelum ran off to watch.

A soft laugh could be heard as Helix slowly followed.
