Dew stretched himself and yawned as he woke up to the sun shining in his eyes. He felt pretty refreshed even after having a long day of walking yesterday. Thankfully today would be a lot calmer. He wanted to go to a spring hidden in the forest and bath there a bit while enjoying the sun on his fur. Dew already wanted to go there yesterday but on the way he had found a pair of kittoms that had gotten lost. The pair of friends had wanted to catch a fairy and were looking at areas in the forest with a lot of mushrooms but had lost their way and couldn't find a way home anymore. Dew had brought them to the nearest crossroads in the forest that had a sign post with directions and could then go along with them until he was sure they wouldn't run off into the thicket anymore.
So today was the day to visit the spring! Dew enjoyed a small breakfast so his stomach wouldn't be too full and heavy for the trip and packed himself a lunch. Then he stepped outside his small hut and breathed in. He loved the fresh forest air and could never get tired of its smell! Dews tail excitedly swung around as he made himself tall and stretched again, enjoying the sun and fresh breeze before he started walking. The spring wasn't super far away but the terrain could be a bit difficult if you took the direct way. Dew didn't want to use the roads though. He liked using the direct paths that would take him through the deep parts of the forest. He wanted to see if everything was going well. Was the fox den still intact? Did the birds make new nests? Was the small river still unobstructed and provided water for the animals? It was his forest and his responsibility. He tried not to intervene too much but when help was needed he was more than happy to give it. Today everything seemed calm and Dew could enjoy the walk to the spring. The forest was well and alive and that feeling resonated in the Elnin. He felt connected to the earth, the trees, the water, the wind. Felt in sync with the animals living here. There was no other place where he could thrive as well as here!
When he reached the spring a pair of deers stopped drinking and stared at him. Dew slowly blinked before averting his gaze and tilting his body away to ignore the deers. He could still feel them and knew they hadn't left even as he entered the water. He felt in total harmony.
