The seasons seemed to go by so quick since he'd come to Ealei, leaving Dax feeling whimsical in the face of the stopping force of his world: the miasma. He had made this trip here but he hadn't realized at the time that he'd still be here on the giant fruit-bearing tree when the miasma season blew in, leaving a thick mess all across the realm. It left Dax in Ealei of all places! Of course, there were plenty of manaberries to eat but what was there to do on a giant tree? The docket of activities that he could do while stuck in a treehouse was absolutely dismal.

The anxious kittom leaned on the window, rocking back and forth on his arms as he looked out at the world he could take no part in. There was a beautiful blue sky with grand white clouds painting the sky that whispered to him, calling out to him. It foretold his great adventure, a tale so unbelievable that it would be told for ages to follow! However, that joy was quickly snuffed out as he remembered that instead of going on this great adventure he was actually just cooped up in this tree house. The adult elnin in this town, although none of them were his parents, took such good care of him. They were caring and protective and Dax considered that maybe he'd like it if they cared a bit less. They were overbearing and attentive, a combination that kept him trapped on this window sill. Would it kill them if they let him climb down to the roots by the shore and did some fishing? How could they stop his potential like this?

No. They wouldn't let him sneak off very fair, quoting the dangers of the miasma over and over as if that would stop him!

He sighed, looking down at the clear ocean water that crashed into the jagged rock barrier that protected the reefs and shore around Ealei. Even outside of this prison was another in the water, holding him in. Realization hit him and a devilish smile came across his face as he looked at the door that was closed and then back out the window. Grabbing his backpack, he pulled out a rope from within it and tied it off. Swinging the backpack over his back, the kittom jumped out of the window, gliding down the rope like an action scene as his wings caught the air helping him glide smoothly down the rope! He safely got to the one of the branches below the treehouse, and in one smooth action pulled the rope down from its anchor and coiled it back up.

He looked up to the treehouse, smirking at his success. Of course, he knew he was born for adventure! He began scurrying down the tree, branch by branch, until he reached the roots of the tree. He knew there was nothing to worry about! He climbed onto the rocks and then suddenly he felt something rumbling! A giant crab! A giant crab pulled up out of the water and climbed up onto the rock beside him, clicking his menacing claws around.

Dax  grabbed his trusty rope and then jumped over to the next rock, using his small size to sneak up onto the giant crab. Unable to stop him or shake him off, the crab accepted his fate as Dax used the rope like a set of horse reigns.

Dax grinned widely as he looked out into the sea. There was a world of adventure out there waiting for him! He knew he was born for this! As the crab began to move out into sea, leaving the large tree behind, Dax's eyes refocused and he was back in the treehouse. He was riding a chair, backwards with a ribbon in his hands. Adventure would find him someday but for now he imagined.
