The eldertree of Silveil is widely known for its peculiar quality of growing differently from the rest. From the shores of the surrounding regions, one could see that it stretches downwards instead, growing into the deep silvered lake underneath the entirety of Silveil and its city. Being so, the tree itself is not often explored and simply observed from afar. What can be seen, then, are a great deal of lights in and around the tree's branches. One could easily mistake this for the reflections of stars, if not for the way that they constantly seem to drift and move apart. These are, of course, the native jellyfish to the region that give off their own sources of light, and they do not inhabit the waters alone.
There exists an ecosystem of sorts within the tree's branches, akin to a primitive form of barrier reef, populated by different sorts of fish, weeds, algae, and invertebrates. In particular, a species of small fish known as Fool's Jelly seems to have formed a partnership with the actual jellyfish that live in these waters. Under daylight they would appear to be normal ray-finned fish of a slightly green coloration, but in the dark waters of Silveil the glowing patterns along their bodies are arranged to almost perfectly imitate that of the jellyfish, so much so that a diver would not be able to ascertain the difference from afar. These fish habitually follow the jellyfish around and share spaces in and around the tree. They even swim at a similar pace and formation to further the imitation. It is theorized that these fish glow in this manner to fool predators, as most know to avoid their partnered species, which is known to the locals to be poisonous. Perhaps, then, one observing the tree from the far shore and spotting lights in the water would in fact be seeing these fish instead!
