Within the ever-spring forests of Faerindell, where cherry blossoms paint the sky with hues of punk and white, a delicate butterfly can be seen dancing on the breeze.  This creature is adorned with wings that camouflage it perfectly against the foliage, for they are shaped like the delicate petals of cherry blossoms.

Called by many common names, including the Sakura Butterly, the Cherry Blossom or Blossom Butterfly, or variations thereof, the butterfly boasts a wingspan that vary from soft pinks reminiscent of the flowers of the forests the species features to pristine whites that mimic the young buds upon the trees.  As it flutters amongst the cherry blossoms, only then may the viewer catch the sunlight glittering on the delicate scales that form the curved wings and note the differences between it and the blossoms it feeds from.

This pink Blossom Butterfly is a master of grace in flight, weaving through the blossoms with effortless elegance.  Its flight patterns is a ballet, a dance of intricate patterns and spirals that mirror the cherry blossoms’ petals descent when stirred by a spring breeze.  As it flits from flower to flower, it blends seamlessly with the petals about it, both perched in the branches and with the petals as they flutter past later in the season.

The butterfly’s body is slender and elegant, adorned with a subtle fusion of pastel shades that echo the blush of cherry blossoms in full bloom.  Its antennae are dark, twisting as it to mimic the branches that surround it.  The fine hairs that cover its body are excel at catching the pollen of the blossoms as it flits from flower to flower, playing a crucial role as a vital pollinator in Faerindell for this very reason.  The cherry blossom’s nectar is then not only its source of food, but it forms a perfect give and take with its environment.
