Mossitiles live in the vast forests of Kyendi, roaming at a relatively slow place just under the fog that sometimes lingers around the dense jungle floor. These creatures are very rarely found with variants across the floating islands high above Kyendi, the bulk of them and most common kind live at lower elevations. These easy going creatures bear a strong resemblance to what elseworlder's call tortoises, with some notable differences. While both are reptilian in appearance, Mossitiles have very flat shells that resemble stones and rough stone-like spines guarding the ridges of their noses and sides of their arms.

Moss often grows on their shells when they're sunbathing in clearings or resting along a path trail. Due to these behaviors their name, Mossitile, was thought up by some Kyendi natives who were said to not have the best naming sense, but no one could really change it after it took off. Some residents sometimes call them "Mossitails" instead when other vegetation gets stuck on their shells and drags after them as they wade through low rivers between the round Kyendi mountains.

These strong creatures sometimes will dive into the crashing waters below waterfalls to find vegetation and small aquatic life to eat while their shells protect them from the cascading falls above. Not surprisingly though Mossitiles are not opposed to handouts from the locals and are easily won over as neighborhood guests if fed produce and are fairly entertaining to watch as they crawl around with their powerful scaly legs and short clawed feet. Unfortunately, since they are quite hardy beings and can grow to be a little smaller than the average elnin they will occasionally break into a poorly protected zen garden and devastate some bonzai trees if left unattended in populated areas.

Overall Mossitiles are amiable creatures that coexist quite well with Kyendi's residents and pose little threat to more than the native plants. They are fairly slow moving though, so it is not too hard to keep them out of trouble, though some locals still accidentally step on a few when traversing the jungle paths to see ruins.
