Another day back at the library. Luzia was running late this time. She had spent all afternoon collecting glowing mushrooms near the forest by the Starlake to turn them into lamps for her home. The glowing flowers and plants of Silveil were so diverse, Luzia almost felt overwhelmed and she wanted to pluck them all to take them home and put them in little pots.
The galaxy sky stretched over the horizon as she was running along, trying to make it in time for another lesson about the wildlife of Silveil - and she did not want to miss that! Today was Fauna time, they would learn about an animal that lived here. How exciting was that? But only if she was quick enough! 

Finally, she arrived, barely on time. Her little chest was pumping and she was desperately trying to catch her breath while she looked for a place among all the other kittoms, which already waited patiently for the librarian to start the session.

“There we go! Now that we’re all here, we can start!” She chimed and grabbed a little glass Aquarium from the shelf next to her. Inside, a little creature scattered around.
“Today, we will look at the Stellarshroud Drifter! This little celestial fella is adapted to thrive in the eternal darkness of Silveil. The Stellarshroud is an aquatic animal that gracefully navigates the depths of the vast Starlake outside.”

Luzia got up and moved in closer to get a better look at the animal.

“The Drifter has a translucent body adorned with bioluminescent patterns that mimic the constellations in the night sky. Its elongated, serpentine form shimmers with an array of colors, blending seamlessly with the starry reflections in the water. The creature's fins are delicately feathered, resembling the trailing tails of shooting stars as it moves through the liquid darkness. It was also discovered that the creatures use the patterns on their body to communicate with each other.
The Stellarshroud sustains itself by feeding on microscopic organisms that thrive in the lakes unique ecosystem. Specialized appendages near its mouth act like filters, extracting nourishment from the water with high efficiency. Our scientists noticed that during periods of heightened bioluminescence, the creature engages in a mesmerizing dance, creating swirling patterns of light to attract more prey into its vicinity. In the absence of natural light in Silveil, the Stellarshroud Drifter has evolved sophisticated echolocation abilities to navigate through the dark waters and locate prey. Additionally, the creature is capable of sensing the subtle gravitational pulls of celestial bodies, aiding in precise navigation and orientation within the starlit lake.” 

Among the kittoms you could hear little ‘awwww’s and ‘ohhh’s when the creature darted around in the water in front of them. Luzia couldn’t take her eyes off of the Drifter. She really wanted to see one in the wild, but that would probably have to wait until she was grown up and could swim better and hold her breath for longer. For now, she wanted to study all the creatures and wildflowers she could find.
