Tree roots that pierce the water’s edge , splitting like parallel universes and infinite timelines before reaching the rocky beach below. Traversing through the roots would be nigh impossible , however there are certain pockets that imaginative kittoms might decide as their most secret hideout , with a name and all. The real name for them , the trees , are Mangroves. A staple of Ealei , easy to see as you walk along the shoreline or go further in. Speaking of the shoreline , a simple examination shows that it differs from the sandy beaches of Palu’au. Instead of fine sand to sift your hand through , Ealei’s shores are made up of glistening rocks , tumbled by nature itself into round and smooth edges. Perhaps picking some out would let you chance upon the perfect skipping rock to throw and interrupt the calm water’s surface. Or rather , perhaps you would like to move inward into the isle of Ealei itself , closer to the heart of Eyre.

Roots border the pathway , climbing and crawling and intertwining within each other , causing the pathway to twist and turn with its whims so as not to force a traveling elnin or kittom to forsake any items just to climb over such an obstacle. They dare not cut into the roots , for they might connect to Ealei’s eldertree , Yggdrasil. They do , however , have some fun as the pathway dips under an archway of roots that appear to be decorated with objects that can be found in all the regions. Ealei truly is the melting pot of Eyre , and those who have traveled a long way to visit of course like to leave their mark with something that reminds them of home. Maybe they can encourage those who live within Ealei’s islands to venture out , the same way they have to arrive here.
