Loki hadn't been alone for long. He'd spent most of his time with his adoptive family, tucked away where he could access books and not much else. Granted, he'd never really wanted the freedom to roam; never felt the need for it, but his grandmother had pushed him towards it, and he'd eventually relented.

As he watched the sun sink over the horizon, into a sea of red, ever autumnal leaves, he was quite pleased he'd done so. Kyendi was lovely, true, but something about the vast arrays of warm colors in Bellmoril called to him. The way the sun filtered through the leaves in the trees, and bathed the forest floor as it set was spectacular, and the fact the palette of colors hadn't truly changed from daylight didn't seem to matter. The beauty still held true.

The water that lapped at his feet from the wide lake only served to augment the beauty of the scene in front of him, and he took meticulous pride in drawing what he saw in impressionistic designs of paint over paper. The sun sunk lower until it vanished over the horizon, and though the palette dimmed somewhat without the light, the mountain and trees remain easily seen even in the moonlight, aided by small specks of fireflies and light from the rural towns he could see in the distance.

He'd likely make his way towards the medieval looking buildings later on, and likely pen a letter for his grandmother, but for the time being, he allowed the water to lap at his paws, and his eyes to follow stray leaves as they fell and caused the crystalline surface to ripple.

He wished he'd had the foresight to ask Smore to come with, but hadn't really figured he'd stick around away from home for so long; it'd been a fortnight at this point. Perhaps... it was time to return, and possibly ask his brother to come with the next time he eventually set off again.
