A very cold spider that preys on the small organisms that thrive in the ice rivers; it initially hitched a ride on migrating animals, and developed a thick shell in order to survive the climate. It's spine-like pincers give it a good grip on slick surfaces, and it regularly "fishes" in the icy depths. This spider lays its eggs right above the waters, but wedged inside the deep cracks of rocks to help hide them. Wandering ice otters may find a tasty morsel out of these egg clusters, though!
