The year had been strange for Estelle, she wasn’t quite sure where she was headed. She had made a stop in Silveil and so far she was enjoying her time there. Este had lost track of time and Starfall Faire was just around the corner. She had made plans to make her way to Ealei this year but instead she decided to stay here and celebrate. The sky here was unlike any other and she thought it would be even more splendid to watch the fireworks here. Silveil everlasting night sky was unlike any she had ever seen with it galaxies spread across the sky day and night. Estelle wondered how beautiful the fireworks would look blooming into Silveil’s starry sky. The excitement was building as she decided to set camp by the water.
She had brought all her things to decorate a nice little spot for the festival. Este had stopped in town first to gather all her favorite Starfall snacks as she packed a nice picnic for herself. She made sure to include her ultimate favorite mooncakes. No one knows how one kittom could manage to eat 15 mooncakes… But that’s how many she had packed for herself. The moon was so bright as it shined above the water and reflected this soft glow unlike any other moonlit night she had ever seen. It seemed that tonight the moon was even brighter than it usually ever was. Bathing in moonlight she began to prepare her decorations.
Attaching some rope from one tree branch to the next as she struggled to climb even high enough to reach a branch. Estelle looked around for something to slightly boost her height just so she could even be high enough to reach the lowest branch. She tried various different objects she found around her. From glowing mushrooms which were all around but sadly they didn’t help much except offer her some extra light. She had gathered so many that she had a little glowing mushroom garden all around her. Unfortunately they were a bit too squishy. Estelle even tried using some loose branches she found around but it wasn’t stable enough to hold her weight. She really was about to give up putting up her nice garland of lanterns until she set eyes on a rock that would be just high enough. The only trouble now was how to get that rock over where she needed it.
This little kittom was absolutely determined to hang her garland of lanterns. Building a small cart out of the branches she had gathered, Este managed to make something to push the rock on to and then be able to pull it where she needed. It took all her might to be able to just load the rock onto her cart. But once she got it on she used the mushroom to light her way to her destination as she pulled the rock. One thing was sure she was gonna work that appetite for those mooncakes. She took breaks as she got tired pulling. Estelle had a few scrapes and cuts from having fallen a few times as she ran out of strength. But nothing was going to stop her.
As she finally got the rock to where she wanted it, with a few scrapes, bruises and cuts she climbed and reached the branch where she tied the rope. She was the happiest little kittom at this moment. Tying her rope to the branch on the other side , she finally had a line to hang her lanterns. She jumped up and down as she was overcome with joy. Only now she hadn’t seen her other dilemma, how to get the lanterns on the rope. At least the rock was still there for her to climb as she got the first one on there. She had picked from one of the local sellers in Silveil some beautifully colorful lanterns ranging from pink, blue, purple, orange, yellow, red and green. The first one she got on was the green one. Estelle smiled and clamped her hands as she got it on the rope. But quickly she began frowning as she realized she couldn’t get the others on.
She plopped herself off the rock and the tears began to flow as there was no way to get them all on the rope. Her body finally began to ache from all her hard work and bruises. Her picnic had been set for the celebration but she wasn’t even hungry anymore for those mooncakes. She cried for a while longer, disappointed and frustrated that she couldn’t finish setting up her lanterns. She knew soon enough the celebration would start. But being the resourceful kittom she was after throwing her tantrum she thought of an idea. Building a small little ladder to reach from the extra rope she had and the stack of branches she still had. Finally she had the way to finish setting her nice lanterns. One by one she hung them, green, blue, purple, pink, red, orange and yellow. Estelle looked at them in awe. She then lit them with the moonlight and stars giving them an extra glow.
Sitting by the water watching the waves crash and her lanterns reflecting extra colours in the water. The sight was marvelous and Estelle was glad she decided to have the celebration in Silveil. There was really something even more magical here with the moon being at its brightest and the sky lighting up with galaxies and stars. Now all that was missing was the fireworks. That’s when she heard the first loud bang go out and a few seconds after she saw lights crash in the sky. The colours and the fireworks were simply marvelous. The colours seemed even more vivid than any she had ever seen before. She could even see the fireworks reflect on the water and even Silveil Eldertree who was upside down in the water seemed like it was glowing with different colours. She was the most content little kittom watching the show eating her 15 mooncakes. One could only imagine she would have a long nap after that.
