Deep in the swamplands of Enmir lies a portion of the bog that holds a fantastical beauty like no other.  Local residents have all kind of names for the region—the Luminous Marsh, the Luminous Road, or even the Glowshade Bog, and combinations of all above words.  However, the stretch of land they refer to remains the same, and travelers often find themselves ensnared by the surreal charm of the primeval wilderness.

The first thing that captures the traveler’s attention is the soft, eerie glow that permeates the air.  The Road, as it will henceforth be called in this narration, is bathed in a soothing, emerald radiance, courtesy of the countless green, bioluminescent lanterns suspended among the branches of the ancient trees.  These luminous orbs dangle like fireflies caught in a perpetual dance, casting an enchanting glow that reveals the bog’s mossy road.

The towering trees of the swamp stand sentinel, gnarled roots rising from the inky waters, creating a series of natural bridges and platforms.  Beneath the surface, the water glistens with a phosphorescent shimmer, hinting at the hidden wildlife below.  Lilly pads, oftentimes found heavy with blooms of their own, dot the surface of the waters like jewels in a treasure chest.

As elnin follow the winding, lantern-lit path, the air is filled with a chorus of otherworldly sounds.  Creatures of all kinds, unseen but ever-present, create a symphony of croaks, chirps, and whispers.  Fireflies, bodies aflame, flit around like errant stars, adding to the dream-like ambiance of the path.

Somewhere along the road lies a secluded grove, where the lanterns gather in great numbers, casting a resplendent, almost celestial radiance into the surrounding twisting trunks and vines.  The grove forms part of a safe rest-spot for adventurers that venture into the depths of the swamp, and are oftentimes full of supplies for the weary traveler.  The lanterns then, also prove a potent sign of safety and promise.
