In a vast expanse of white wonderland, blanketed by freshly fallen snow, the land shimmered with winter magic. Here, amongst the pristine snow, four elnin friends—Boreas, Wish, Mika, and Rain—set out for an adventure unlike any they had experienced before. Strynhalde was always under a perpetual blanket of snow, its forests a wonderland of white and crystalline sparkles.

Boreas, the djinnin, strutted around with a smug grin, leaving behind footprints that crackled with dragon energy. His scales shimmered under the pale sunlight, a brilliant azure contrasting with the whiteness all around. Often, he'd use his fiery breath to melt snow, just because he could. He stretched his tiny wings wide. "Isn't this place boring? Nothing but snow."

Wish, the faenin with beautiful gossamer wings like a butterfly's, often zipped around leaving swirls of sparkles in her wake. Her small, nimble frame was deceptive, for she loved nothing more than pulling pranks and catching her friends off guard. She shot him a mischievous grin. "Boring? Oh, you just wait."

Mika, exhibited the spirit of the sharks of the deep blue seas. Her mischievous grin could send shivers down the spine of anyone. Especially if they knew of her penchant for impulsively leaping into snow banks, creating splashes of powdery chaos. She attempted to sharpen her tailfin against a snow-covered rock. "All this snow makes it hard to swim. But a snowball fight? That’s my game."

And then there was Rain. The most tender-hearted of them all. With his dark blue fur, he was a stark contrast to the icy realm, often found trying to comfort a bird whose wing had frozen or consoling a tree for losing a leaf. His kindness was unparalleled, but his sensitivity often made him the target of being teased despite his age. "It’s so beautiful here, but aren't snowball fights a little, you know, aggressive?"

"Worry not, Rain! All in good fun," Wish exclaimed, already rolling a snowball between her tiny paws.

With that, Boreas took off into the sky, his blue scales contrasting against the cloudless winter sky. From this vantage point, he spotted the perfect battleground—a clearing surrounded by tall, snow-covered pine trees.

"Over there!" Boreas roared, pointing with his tail. The others followed his lead, Wish fluttering, Mika dashing, and Rain trotting after them cautiously.

The clearing was breathtaking. It was as if they had stepped into a fairy tale, each tree lavishly adorned with ice crystals, and the ground a pristine canvas of snow. Boreas swooped down and landed gracefully. "Well, here we are. The ideal stage for my victory."

Mika kicked snow into the air. "Don't be so sure. I’m still quick on my fins... I mean, feet!"

Wish had already darted into the woods. "You're on!"

Rain was worrying for the group. "Okay, let’s set some rules. No aiming at the face, and no oversized snowballs!"

"Rules, rules, rules," Boreas sighed, even though he found them reasonable enough and battle lines were drawn.

Snowballs began to fly. Boreas soared through the air, launching snowballs from above like tiny meteors. Mika relied on her agility, nimbly dodging incoming snowballs and flicking her tail to send a flurry of her own. But then several snowballs were thrown in rapid succession at the group, the perpetrator? Wish, as a giggle of glee escaped her mouth as she darted to and fro between snowdrifts. Rain, albeit reluctantly, gathered snow into his soft paws, only to see them melt away from his nervous warmth.

"Ah, come on, Rain! Throw like you mean it!" Mika shouted as she ducked from a surprise attack from Wish.

"I’m trying!" Rain squeaked softly, finally managing to toss a rather lumpy snowball towards Boreas. It missed him by a mile.

"Hey, I felt that wind pass by," Boreas teased, but then a snowball from Wish splattered right against his wing. "What the—? Oh, you'll pay for that!"

But as Boreas readied his next snowball, he saw Rain, his eyes full of emotion, gazing at the winter landscape as if seeing something profoundly beautiful.

"Isn’t it just magical?" Rain said softly, a teardrop forming in his eye.

Caught off guard, Boreas lost his grip, and his snowball plopped harmlessly to the ground.

Wish, seizing the moment of distraction, hit him with another snowball. "Gotcha again!"

Mika used her tailfin to slice a snowball in half mid-air. "This is so much fun!"

Boreas landed beside Rain. "You know, I guess it's more than just a backdrop for our game. It’s... pretty cool."

Rain's eyes lit up. "You really think so?"

"Yeah," Boreas admitted, as the last rays of sunlight cast a golden glow over the snow, turning the world into a shimmering spectacle.

Suddenly, Wish popped out of nowhere. "Group huddle! Let’s call a truce."

"Why?" Mika looked puzzled but intrigued.

"Look around. We’re in a magical world," Wish fluttered her wings, making the snowflakes dance around them in a flurry.

Boreas, usually so aloof, found himself captivated by the beauty. Mika was already building a snow shark, her equivalent of a snowman. Rain was openly crying now, but these were tears of joy.

"We're so lucky," Rain murmured. "This moment, this place, and these friends. It's everything."

Boreas looked at Rain, then at Wish and Mika. For the first time, his cocky façade melted away, like snow under the winter sun. "You know, it may be freezing out here, but this is the warmest I’ve felt in a long time."

Each of the friends, so different yet so perfectly complementary, took a moment to appreciate the winter wonderland that had become their playground, their battlefield, and now, their shared treasure.

"Same time next year?" Wish suggested.

"Absolutely," they all agreed.

All agreed. The snowball fight, filled with mischief and moments of tender friendship, ended in warm cuddles as the nins lay in a pile, watching the snowflakes gently fall from the winter sky, cherishing the moments they spent together in their icy wonderland.
