Sunniva had been heavily reading certain books as of late. They still had their little issue of something haunting their library. Miyako had grown accustomed to things being displayed, food going missing and books out of place with some tears in them. But it was Sunni wasn’t ready to live with it. She was terrified at night that she always carried a candle and before it would burn out she would make sure to have another one ready. The poor little one was afraid of whatever was causing this chaos and she was convinced it was a spirit or a ghost. Lately she had been ravaging through the library’s entire collection of books and scrolls on haunting creatures. The little kittom was beginning to be terrified of what she was finding through these pages. She was assured that nothing good would come of this. Miyako only thought that the kittom had a wild imagination and that there was nothing to worry about as she had been living like this for years and nothing bad ever happened. But to calm Sunni, she had given her a book on fae folk and specifically one that talked about faerie rings.

The little kittom had made it her quest to seek out a faerie ring and to make her offering to help get rid of this haunting. Since the sage burning they had tried only lasted 2 weeks, she thought maybe that this would be a better bet. Sunniva had been doing her daily task less and less as she became obsessed with finding knowledge on the fae folk and on the natural rings that could be found within the forests where one could offer to the fae. She had read all she could about it and decided that she would go out and venture to the forest on the outskirts of Silveil city. At first she had hesitated a bit since Silveil was always so dark and that there wasn’t much to light your way that she could get lost easily out there. But she had thought of a brilliant idea, bringing with her a lantern that she could use to help light her way in the dark forest and some little flags she had fashioned to leave behind so she knew where she had been. There was also the bioluminescent flora that had helped guide her way. Glowing mushrooms and plants could be found all through the forest. The big shining moon and stars that could be seen across the sky also put her at ease. Sunniva had decided to venture out and find a faerie ring. She even had gotten herself a map of the forest to help her quest from one of the local merchants.

Miyako was beginning to worry about the small kittom who became consumed by her quest. She simply was trying to help her to put her at ease, but in the end she decided maybe it wasn’t so bad to leave her to her own devices. After all she came back each day, slightly a bit more disappointed than the day before. At this rhythm, Yako thought the kittom would give up. But she had not anticipated Sunni sheer will. Once the little kittom had her mind set on something she would make sure to see it through. Sure she would be disappointed not to have found a fae ring on the first day but venturing to the outdoors was good for her. She loved the library but she missed her outdoor adventures she used to take back when she lived in Strynhalde.

The forest was dark and dense, but she grew accustomed to the darkness that Silveil had to offer and she didn’t much mind it anymore. In fact she found it trilling as she would admire the moonlit sky with the most beautiful shining stars each day. She never had to wait any longer for the night to come to look at the moon and stars. They graced her day and night here. She also found the flora way more interesting here. IT GLOWED IN THE DARK, I mean how cool was that? Before she was used to simply seeing snow, with a few trees here and there. She barely ever saw flowers, as they were so rare in Strynhalde. But her favorite thing had to be the glowing butterflies. She had never seen a butterfly before and here she was surrounded in the woods by glowing ones. Sunniva was absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful forest in Silveil. Who knew that such beautiful things could thrive in the darkness.

Sunni was beginning to wonder if she would ever find one here. After all she often found a natural gathering of mushrooms and butterflies but never one that could be described as a faerie ring. She wasn’t losing hope and knew that this would be no easy task. After all the fae folk wouldn’t make it so easy to find one now would they? One day she was ready to head home as her lantern was almost running out. But somehow she didn’t know where she was, Sunniva couldn’t find her flags around that she left behind. It’s almost as if she had been wandering for quite some time without realizing it. She was lost and confused and began to be a bit fearful. What if she couldn’t find her way home anymore. She had packed a bit of food with her in the event that she maybe would lose her way. But unlike other places Silveil was always dark, so there was no waiting till daylight to find your way. Wandering a bit further hoping to maybe spot one of her flags, she tripped over a rock and landed on her face. “ OUCH” she yelled out rubbing her face where it hurt. She was a bit more disoriented and began to cry, she was lost and now her body ached everywhere. She wanted to go home and realized how this whole quest was a terrible idea.

As tears rolled down her cheek she felt something brush her nose. Rubbing her nose as it tickled she opened her eyes and saw this butterfly that kept flying around her. Sunni had never seen one like this before. It had a beautiful soft glow of different pastel colours, ranging from blue, purple and pink. It even had a slight starglow to it that she was absolutely mesmerized with it. The butterfly decided to fly away after having circled and landed a few times on Sunniva. ‘WAIT” she said as she began to follow the butterfly. It’s almost as if she had forgotten she was lost and had a slight bruise on her face. Before she knew it she couldn’t see the butterfly anymore, it’s as if it had just vanished. Sunni began looking at her surroundings as it came back to her that she had been lost. That’s when she spotted it, a perfect circular ring made of glowing mushrooms and rocks. This had to be it! Her little friend had landed on one of the mushrooms forming the ring. In the middle she left her offering, a book about hauntings. Who knew how the fae folk would receive that? But in Sunniva’s mind they would understand her situation. The fae folk sure worked in mysterious ways. From the corner of her eye she noticed one of her flags and knew it was time to head home as she bid farewell to her new friend.

The kittom was glad her quest was now over and hoped the fae folk would receive her message.
