The little village he had settled into when getting to Bellmoril was quaint and friendly, one he enjoyed visiting throughout his journey and one he came to almost call a second home. The woods surrounding the community was fun to explore as well. Cain found himself sometimes craving adventure again between his shifts at the inn, and when he was allowed freedom for the day, he usually set out to gauge the surrounding woods.

This day was no different. As he swept the floor of the inn, the owner called over to him to let him know his duties were done for that day and to relax however he sought fit. Cain smiled and nodded, putting the broom away where it belonged. He would then climb up to his room to grab his journal, something he liked to write in while in the wild. Maybe he would find something interesting to doodle as well.

With his journal tucked under his arm, he set out to see what he could find that day. Cain followed a small foot trail leading out of the village and into the woods for a little while before he veered off into the thicket. There he would find all kinds of interesting things, mostly strange bugs and a few neat areas that he could see himself sitting down in to eat lunch. He thought maybe he would bring his friend November to one of these spots one day.

As he ventured further, a plant caught his eye. It was a bush with triangular leaves and half-circle divots around the edge. It looked like any ordinary bush he's seen plenty before in the mountains of Kyendi, but what astonished him were the colors. Splotches of orange mixed with a blackish tone which was stark against the pure white that was spotted throughout. It was a calico plant! Cain immediately pulled his journal out and started to sketch the leaves and write down little notes about it and where to find the location again. He would have to ask November about this! What an interesting find.

So interesting, Cain actually plucked one of the leaves that had all three colors and placed it between his book pages. He hoped it would keep for a long while.
