Miyako had been walking around on eggshells for a while now since that Faeyhallow night. The air around the library hadn’t quite been the same since that night. She always felt this chill in the back of her spine. She was starting to believe the rumors that had been going around Silveil city that her library was haunted. Books often came out of place which Miya would find on the ground. It never had bothered her much before living in Silveil and that it was always night time but lately the darkness crept up on her and often made her feel uneasy. She would always make sure she had plenty of candles lit around the room she was in at the time. Yako had even gone out to gather jars full of bioluminescent flora to make her feel safer with their soft glow. It was a tedious task as they wouldn’t last forever and candles became quite expensive to light many at once and every day. She often found herself asleep somewhere in the library but with one eye open.

The people that knew her well would mention how tired her eyes looked as if she hadn’t gotten a decent night's sleep in a long time. Miyako would lose track of time more than ever now. She would try to keep track of the days but now it was impossible she stayed awake and slept at even more irregular hours. But really would really know as there was no night and day in Silveil. She would often peek out her windows and look at the stars and galaxies that adorned the night sky. She found some comfort in it and felt less of a chill once she saw the beautiful stars.

One day she woke up and her glasses were missing and she couldn’t for the life of her find them. Yako knew she had left them on her night table as she always did. But somehow when she awoke they were missing. She was getting fed up with this game of her things missing, things being thrown out of place and also food missing. She didn’t want to admit to herself that perhaps there was a ghost haunting her. But one thing Miya knew was that no ghost ate food right? She couldn’t see very well without them but Miyako was determined to find them. She walked around for a while holding a candle to light her way and that's when she heard it… The loud cracking sound. She had found her glasses alright as she had stepped on them. To her horror she knew it meant she had broken them. But made things worse as she let out a deep yell. It’s when Yako had finally seen it, a shadow !

It didn’t take her long to gather what was left of her bionicles and she ran for the door. One lens had survived but the other was all cracked. But at that point she could see better than she did before. Before she was about to step out she took one look around the place and the shadow was gone. Miya took a deep breath and sighs in relief. Maybe it was just her imagination after all and the stories she was starting to believe. She had long lived here and nothing or no ghost was really living here. Or she was trying to convince herself. But since Silveil never slept in case she would need proper specs she decided it was better she went and bought a new pair or fix her old ones.

Stepping out of the library trying to leave behind her worries, she strolled around the streets to the boutique for specs. Miyako also took the opportunity to enjoy the fresh cool crisp night air that chilled around Silveil. But really she found herself lost and basking in the twilight. She found herself wandering for quite a while and she was finally more relaxed as she stargazed. Silveil itself felt like a microcosmos and there was no other place she would rather live. Miya had always been lucky as she somehow managed to elude the thieves and gambling of the city. But most weren’t so lucky.  Some even visit the city simply for its gambling activities and bustling lights that always lit up the city that never slept.

She eventually found the place she had been slowly wandering to without trying. Funny enough she seemed to have a sense of direction even when Yako was absent minded. The optometrist offered to fix her old bionicles and at the same time she decided to buy a new pair in case she would ever mysteriously step on them again. She thought to herself better be safe than sorry. She was told to come back in a few days time for her pair to be fixed but she was happy to head home with a brand new pair of glasses so that she could get back to her work. Miyako had been putting it off as she couldn’t seem to concentrate enough lately. But this time she was determined to get the work done, ghost of not.

Making her way home her stomach started to growl and she figured it was time to fix a meal. She had made herself a really nice sandwich with lots of meat slices and veggies. She had set it on her coffee table in the kitchen as she went back to the fridge to get herself a glass of juice. But when she turned around Miya heard a barely audible thump on the table and that’s when she turned around and saw that shadow from the corner of her eye. She dropped her glass on the ground, releasing a loud yell as it crashed hitting the ground breaking into tiny pieces as she scared whatever had jumped on the table. Surprisingly the shadow had stopped dead in its tracks at the loud noises before it decided to flee. But before it ran off it dropped a piece of meat from Miyako meal and that’s when she saw whatever it was. Turns out it wasn’t a ghost after all but simply a cat that has been creating chaos in Yako’s world. This whole time she had been dreading the worst and she had been really scared out of her wits. But it had simply been a cat throwing down books and objects all over the library for weeks, but funny enough she had never seen it and the missing food should have been a clue. It made her wonder how it even got in here in the first place? But the fuzzy little fur ball was quite courageous as it had the guts to come back for the slice of meat it had left behind and Miya could not believe it. But it soon skittered off as it got what it wanted. Maybe one day they could become friends and stop tormenting Yako.
