The small kittom could not contain her excitement any longer. She had been preparing her adventuring outfit for months. Every spare change she had from helping her father and sometimes from customers leaving her a small tip, had gone in her saving pot to get herself a nice little adventuring gear. She had gotten herself a small harness that she had multiple pockets to store small items from an adventuring diary and other useful things. On the plus side she would never need to worry about needing something to light her way due to her brother having a witchlight to light her way in darkness. She had also made sure to get herself a bag that Ori could store useful items including a water gourd, a sleeping blanket, different types of inks and pens. She even had a place for a small pocket knife in case she needed to defend herself or to cut her way through the thick marshes. She was indeed ready for an adventure. The months of preparation had made it all that more exciting.

The day for adventuring had finally come for this small kittom. Oriana had waited months to go out into the wilds of Eyre while her brother Koko had done plenty of adventuring. But the time had finally arrived for her to brave the outdoors. Her home region had been in Ahza for quite a while since she had been adopted by her father Ha-ru and her mother Nari. But they had been traveling for a bit to join the rest of their family in Enmir. Nari was a healer and she often traveled through Eyre to heal and also acquire healing ingredients. Her occupation had brought her to Enmir and Ha-ru thought it was time to finally bring Oriana. Most of the time Nari had been traveling; she had brought Koko with her and Oriana had sadly stayed home with her father to help around the shop they had. She would help him sell healing remedies that he helped craft with his mate.

Luckily the route from Ahza to Enmir hadn’t been too rough. Oriana ran towards her brother that she hadn’t seen in months and hugged him so hard to the point he couldn’t breathe. Finally when she let go he ruffled up her bangs. He was happy too to see his sister that he had been missing. He told Oriana all about his adventures throughout Eyre. The scenery here was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Everything seemed gloomy here and there wasn’t really any sunlight that penetrated the marshes. Even the way people lived here was so different from what she was used to. She had never seen people living and building their homes in trees. There was also mucky water that they had built bridges over to link pathways and the towns. She was used to houses being built in the sand and towns and cities placed throughout oasis and sand. There was no sand here and the weather was quite different. There was barely any sun to be seen. Which made her miss the sun so much. However there were fireflies all over that created small motes of light everywhere that made up for the lack of the sunlight.

Having reunited Ori and Ko were back to their usual antics. Their parents being busy with their business they often left the children to their own devices as long as they stayed out of trouble. Having heard many rumors from the townsfolk Oriana decided to ask her brother to take her out to the Shaedmoor. She had heard that there were swamp monsters hiding there. She wanted to see one in action. A bit reluctant, Koko decided to take her there as he was also curious. The two siblings in their adventuring gear made their way to the darker area of the region. Oriana could not believe how mucky everything was and she would make sure not to step in any of the water. They both followed the bridges even though she was absolutely tempted to hang on vines that would cover the trees. At some point when they had reached the Shaedmoor she felt a chill down her spine and she began to shiver. The temperature was cooler here and also so humid that the air felt sticky. The marsh was also more sinister than what they had previously seen and Oriana was beginning to regret wanting to come here. After all, if they found a marsh creature what would they do?

Something she was also unfamiliar with was the stench of the marshes. She was used to smelling dry air and sunkissed fur. Everything was becoming unpleasant to her. She started to pull on her brother's fur “ Ko I think we should turn back… I’m scared”. Almost dismissing his sister's claim , that's when they heard this loud noise. “ OURAHH ” they heard it again in the distance. Looking around they couldn’t locate where the sound came from as they heard it once more. At this point the two siblings were absolutely petrified. They both whispered to each other that they needed to find their way back. The noise came closer and closer to where they were located. Terrified they both started to run on the bridge as they wouldn’t stay there one minute longer. Unfortunately for Oriana her foot slipped on some moss that had been growing on the wooden blanks and she fell into the marshy waters. She began to yell for help as tears rolled down her cheeks and she was absolutely terrified that the monster would get her. In a rush her brother came and tried to pull her out of the water. It seemed her foot was caught in some growing algae in the water. After they both struggled for a while and she was covered in algae he managed to pull her out with some rope and using the small knife she had with her cutting what got her stuck. But just as he pulled her out and they both fell on the bridge. They heard that daunting noise again. They both stopped moving and Oriana came face to face with the creature. Screeching in fear she began to run but her brother stayed in place and just began to

laugh loudly. Turns out what had been scaring them was simply a bullfrog making loud echoing noises throughout the marsh. Koko picked it up and followed in his sister's footsteps as she seemed to be in a hurry to return home. At some point she stopped running, no longer having the energy to do so and she came face to face with those little eyes again. Her brother kept laughing at her, angry she yelled at him “ it’s not funny!!! I really thought it was a monster!”. Koko kept on picking on his sister telling her badly needed a bath now as she stunk of marshy waters. At this point Ori just wanted to go back home.

Having reached the place where they were staying their parents asked what the children had been up to when before they got to hear their reply they realized that Oriana smelled terrible. Quickly Nari decided to give a bath to Ori and after they got ready for dinner the two children told their tale to their parents and they both laughed and the evening ended with a family being reunited after a long journey.
