The Starfall faire is here again. Calcifer thought to himself, looking out the window of the wooden hut his family were staying in this time. His father and sister, Ripple and Hiroka had headed out earlier in the afternoon looking forwards to the festivities in Enmir to celebrate the rainfall and weird trinkets that could be found in the city of Salva. Why they'd want to be out and about when it's going to rain those crazy rainbows beats me. He thought while lounging and rolling over onto his back ontop of the comfy pillow. His lop ears flopping about comfortably onto the couch. He lazily closed his fiery dual-toned eyes. Apparently his family had decided to stop in Enmir because of an upcoming prismatic storm. Dad said that this year they're a bit more sporadic than most years... I wonder why? He thought lazily. His newly found pomu, Mag's, lay fast asleep under his meadow tail, even pulling the red and gold strands up as a nice warm blanket. The two dazed for a time. Until they bolted awake at the sound of a loud thunder clap. Woah! Wait... what time is it? he thought and slowly hopped off the couch, his pomu, Mag's, grumbled in a lower chittering tone, and rubbed a sleepy eye with a small hand. "Oh, Mag's it's almost dinner time! Man... Hiroka and Dad sure are late... I hope they're not thinking of attending the shops that are still open for Starfall faire. That thunder sounded like a storm might start." Mag's nodded agreeing with his elnin, before jumping up with alarm and heading to the wooden hut's front door, pulling on Cal's leg. "Oh, what is it Mag's? OH CRAP!" he saw three umbrella's left behind by his forgetful family. "Urgh... guess we might have to go out into the city and pass these onto them, huh?" Mag's nodded his head and stretched before grabbing hold of the umbrella's and storing them in Calcifer's shadow. "Man... I just wanted one lazy afternoon day" Cal complained, as Mag's hopped into Calcifer's shadow. The duo carefully left the wooden hut. Calcifer looked up at the overcast sky. Yep, definitely prismatic rain weather. He thought glumly to himself. Man, I hope there's no mischief like what I heard happened a few years back, where Pomu's went missing... I don't think I could stand thinking Mag's had disappeared. Ever since his pomu had appeared during a lazy nap under an elder tree, they'd been inseperable! He'd hoped for a pomu for so long. He'd been jealous of his sister for getting hers so quickly compared to him. Shaking away the thoughts, he headed into the city of Salva. Enmir's large elder tree twisted and rose into a large canopy filled with hanging vines and large glowing fireflies far high up in its bows. Man... it would be such a comfortable spot for a nap, in the summer. He walked along the wooden bridgeways, gripping firmly the vines that entwined to make a handlerail along the bridgeways. Finally he entered the central plaza. Small fireflies of various colours floated illuminating the market, alongside the lamps and lanterns that helped illuminate the street stalls. Well, if I could find Hiroka anywhere, it'd be here. Though Dad is another matter -sigh- he's probably off at some pub with a few of his traders from Enmir. Mag's popped up from Calcifer's shadow excited eyes shining at all the trinkets and herbs on display by the various shopkeeps. "Oi! Don't poke your head out Mag's! What if that crazy rain comes again!" he exclaimed, but Mag's just blew him a raspberry and pulled out an umbrella and handed it to his paranoid kittom. Urgh... fine. I'll just have to be careful for the both of us. Calcifer then roamed the plaza's stalls. He saw peculiarities he'd never seen before. Odd foods, weird herbal remedies, and some amazingly comfortable woven blankets. He stopped at that last stall, excited at the prospect of a high quality blanket. He listened as the storekeep explained the special soft properties of marsh moss combined with the softest young reeds found amidst the hollows of the eldertree. Mag's even popped his head out of his shadow chittering agreement with the storekeep. Well I do have some pocket money saved up. he thought and ended up buying four blankets. One for himself, and three for his siblings. Dad would've been proud at my haggling. He thought to himself, as Mag's greedily packed away the blankets into his shadow. Now where could Hiroka hav-"AHHH!" Calcifer exclaimed jumping as a black and white kittom body slammed into him from behind. He whirled to come face-to-face with his older sister, Hiroka. She grinned at him, metallic golden markings glinting in the light of his luminous golden markings.

"Boo! Did I get you?! I got you good this time didn't I!" she exclaimed with a melodic laugh. Her pomu, sitting on her back also roaring with laughter. Calcifer huffed, puffing up his golden mane with exasperation.

"Yeah, yeah. You got me good. But how could you forget your umbrella?! Did you not hear the thunder? Any second now prismatic rain could start fall" and at that moment the skies gave way, large streaks of rainbow rain falling onto the wooden plaza floor and being caught in small stall canopies over head. "See?!" Calcifer exclaimed handing her, her umbrella and opening his own quickly. "Now look! Some of the rain got into your shadow!"

"Bah, it's just rain Cal! It's not like it's harmful for us." she said, both herself and her pomu blowing raspberries in sync at Cal. Cal, just rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, well you never know! It's better to be safe than sorry like Dad always says! And if you don't behave I'm not going to give you the present I bought for you." he said looking away and narrowing a single dual-toned eye and quickly glancing back at his sister. Yep, got her. he thought as he saw her black and white ears twitch and perk up  at the mention of the word 'present'.

"Oh fine." she said rolling her eyes, and falling into step with Cal. "Well, if it helps any, I know where Dad went! Remember the trader who sells medicinal fireflies? Well, they've found this special pub that's only open during Starfall Faire and is a well-known local secret for having amazing fizzy brew. Apparently its super delicious. If I take you to him, will you forgive me?" she asked blinking her seafoam puppy-dog eyes rapidly at her younger brother.

With a sigh Calcifer nodded his head at his mischievous sister, and the small troupe proceeded to head to the pub and get out of the crazy rainbow rain.
