Submission (#3737) Approved

Arriving at the underground village was a relief to the little fae, making haste to the lodge. It was one of his favorite places, the food was delicious and the rooms were cozy with plush beds. He was quite the regular, but Darcy hadn't been in some time since the miasma had lifted. He had travelers to attend to to earn a bit of money. Now that he had accumulated a sum, he decided to get one of his favorite desserts Zevija could offer.

Walking into the lodge, he was immediately hit with the smell of homemade meals. Darcy could feel his stomach churn in impatience. The owner recognized the fae and greeted him with enthusiasm. He was asked if he wanted his normal order and Darcy nodded. "That'd be great, thanks!"

The lodge restaurant was empty, which wasn't too odd in the early afternoon. It was past lunch but not quite dinner, so Darcy sat up at his favorite table without any company. The fae sighed heavily with relief, tired from his travels and glad to be able to rest his feet and character. He was fine with socializing, but he needed a break from conversing with strangers.

Resting his chin on the table, Darcy would wait for his food. He decided to rest his eyes for only a minute, but before he knew it, the owner was shaking him awake.

"Oh! Apologies, I was more tired than I realized. Thanks." The owner offered him a room as well, which Darcy accepted but wished to eat first before he rested for the evening. He ravaged his meal of dumplings and noodles, but he was definitely looking forward to dessert. It was what he came to the village for, after all, so he was eager to finish his dinner.

Setting aside his plates, he would stand and approach the counter.  He had to jump up and hang onto the edge to get her attention. "Miss? I'd like to get a slice of the Spiced Chocolate Cake please! I'd like to take it to my room if that's alright." The owner was happy to oblige and quickly plated a slice for him and handed him a key to the room he was assigned. He thanked her before taking the plate and floating up the stairs to his room. It was the room he was assigned, as usual, one facing out toward the town rather than the rock wall.

Once he entered the room and locked the door, he would proceed to the window to open it and sit at the edge. The glowing lights and flora of the cave were a nice ambiance and reminded him of home. Darcy loved this place with all his heart and the cake was the icing to the ... well... cake!

The first bite was sensational. The dark chocolate cake was infused with pepper spice so it had a kick to it and the sweetness of the berries on top was a compliment. It was his favorite food from his favorite place in Eyre. Darcy sat there watching the lights as he ate his cake, savoring every bite he took. Even though he was full to the brim, he had to finish the entire thing. He left nothing left on the plate, even licking up the syrup left behind.

Amazing! He felt he could now relax for the rest of the evening. He stepped off the window sill and set down his plate. Closing the window, Darcy would then immediately fall onto the plush bed where he would fall asleep within minutes. He was happy and content, looking forward to a few more days of eating his favorite food.
