It was interesting how out of anything that could have grabbed Ro's attention, it was the stark white contrast of the trees against the ever orange background. It reminded him of Yōkai's scales, honestly, and the more time he spent in Bellmoril, the more the comparison stood out to him in his mind. The first time he left to travel, he'd been alone, figuring he had to prove himself, for whatever reason. The second time, though, when he went back to Kyendi to check in with family and friends, he managed to convince the golden kittom to come with, if only because his words simply could not give the region justice.

It took him a while to talk the usually shy kittom around, but eventually she agreed to go, and though Rodinger was sure she'd half hoped he would forget about said agreement... he had not. He came back for her eventually, and off they set.

Their arrival was worth it.

He had never seen such a look upon his friend's face, and as she moved through the autumnal forests, he decided he'd been correct to assume she'd take to the place like a fish to water. When they decided to play hide and seek among the trees, he was hard pressed to find her, she blended in so well, and though she'd not been sure about the trip at the start, it was clear she'd decided it had been a good idea after all. She told him as much when they camped the first night, and she spent the remainder of the trip collecting autumnal leaves to press between the pages of the various journals they carried; for keeps sake, she'd told him, so she could share them with the others when they got back home.

It was interesting how Rodinger had decided long ago, upon being adopted, that home was less a place, and more a people, but he simply smiled as their journey continued.
