When his mother had discovered and seen what her son had been up to, she had been amazed with the little kittom. Not only had he managed to build a little camp for himself but he had also set up a small fire pit and even a makeshift table to sit on and enjoy a lunch. She was very glad that she had helped him save it. At first she knew her son was hesitant to show her what he had done but in the end, Koko was very glad his mom knew about it so they could both enjoy a day out together at his little hut. Nari had finally been able to get a day off from her daily work and she had planned to spend the day with her son. Ko was absolutely thrilled about it and he couldn’t wait. The night before he had helped his mom prepare a picnic lunch with her. From fresh fruits to light sandwiches they would have a really nice lunch.

The weather was nice today, the air was light and crisp and the leaves fell slowly from the trees in red and golden tones. The sun was beaming with a warm glow that made the breeze blowing through the trees slightly warmer. Koko knew that today was going to be a good day. He was hopping through the forest on each yellow leaf he saw on the ground and Sprite was doing the same or at least trying. Behind them, Nari had a huge smile on her face looking at her son and pomu enjoying their walk in the forest. Every now and then Ko would stop to gather a leaf he thought was beautiful to add to his collection, which looked like a beautiful sunburst. That’s only if he saw it first, his companion liked to play tricks on him and made them disappear. His mother knew that this trip had been hard on him and she was very glad to be able to spend her day with him and listen to his daily adventurers into the wilds of the Bellmoril forest. It had occurred to Nari that while her son thought it was far away from the town. It turned out he had simply only taken a really long detour. But somehow that reassured that her son wasn’t that far from civilization.

As they went along the little kittom was recounting his adventures to his mom of how he had traveled all day long to try and find some chrysanthemums but only when he had fallen off the path having tripped on a rock did he end up finding them and this place. At first his mother was alarmed at his tale but not wanting to show any worry she kept on listening to his recollection of the event. She had wondered that day where the little one had gotten all his scrapes. Day by day he began to be more like his father Nari thought to herself. Without looking at his steps as Ko was excitedly telling his tales he tripped on a rock and he came crashing down. He was so happy to be spending time with his mother that it made him careless. At first Nari gave out a loud laugh realizing that Ha-ru was just the same as Koko. They both got so excited that it made them clumsy. But she then rushed to make sure he was alright. “Ouh” Ko let out a yowl of pain. His mother examined him but it seemed he was unarmed. The fall just hurt on impact but nothing else was bruised or scraped. She picked him up and set him back up on his legs, patting his head she said: “sweetheart you need to be more careful where you step, you don’t want to fall down hills or end up in the bushes like last time?” He nodded rubbing his eyes as a little tear had come out, not wanting his mother to notice. She gave him a pat on the bum telling him to move along.

They had reached the clearing where he had set up his little nook and out of pure excitement Koko ran towards his hut. His mother was waiting for him to crash down again as there seemed to be rocks all around, but this time he seemed to have all the luck on his side. Koko had already set up the table for the picnic the night before when he had snuck out. There were plates with the cutlery and even a little bouquet in the middle of the table adorned with beautiful colorful golden and crimson leaves and some chrysanthemums. He rushed to start a fire, his mother was worried a bit but she realized his father had shown him properly how to do it. They took out their meal and set it all on the table but before they got to enjoy the meal  there was a bird thinking it could get a bite out of the berries. It landed from a tree above on the table and aimed for the fruits. Hearing the bird caw Ko turned around and ran towards it grabbing a broom to shoo it away. The little kittom succeeded in scaring away the bird. He and his mom finally sat down to enjoy the food. The food was scrumptious, Ko devoured it. It seemed he had been quite hungry from the excitement and the walk. He even shared some with Sprite who seemed to be enjoying it as much as he was. When they were all done eating they sat by the fire and Koko was recalling his adventures during his time in Bellmoril. His mother was enjoying the bonding time and she felt a little more at ease knowing that her son managed to entertain himself during the time she had to leave him alone. Seems he was quite a little resourceful kittom. It reminded her of the day she had found him in the desert of Ahza and how scared and frail he was then. But over time he became strong, spirited and capable. His mother was proud of him; she had even brought him a surprise. She pulled out of a bag these sweets that he had never seen before. “ What are these?”, he said. She smiled at her son, “go out in the woods and bring back some pointy branches and you will find out”. He rushed out of his seat and looked around for some good long twigs. He was really happy and couldn’t wait to try it. Koko was back already and showed her the ones he found. She then explained to him how to roast these sweet gooey treats. “They taste much better once they are roasted in the fire. Showing him how to do it and get what she called marshmallows all golden. Koko took one huge bite and saw how gooey they got but he was in heaven. “These are so delicious ma !” he said with his mouth full half muffled by the sweet. His mother chuckled and patted him on the head. “I’m really glad you are enjoying these treats, you’ve been such a good boy during our time here, I am really proud of you”. Smiling with a huge grin the little kittom was absolutely joyous, this was the best day he had in a long while and he was really enjoying his time with his mom. The night was falling and the two kept telling each other stories of their time in Bellmoril but soon they would be heading back home.
