It didn't matter how many times Suki passed through Ahza, it was still a contradiction in and of itself. From the rolling, deserted hills of sand down south, to the thunderstorms and valleys of green up north; she loved it there. The desert dunes and sand particularly appealed to her, where she could hide her orange pelt against the landscape, and dig for bones that sometimes protruded from the ground like treasures to be found and studied. Something about the digging and the finding appealed to her (not to mention bringing them home to be turned into jewelry to wear!). She barely ever grew tired of the heat and the sand, and she loved walking the the dunes only to find an oasis here or there, with cascades and water.
Even when she was feeling like the loneliness of exploration got to her, the cities were interesting, and their mudbrick buildings abated the heat excellently. When she grew tired of that, and needed a change both in scenery and weather, she would head up north, where the orange was replaced with rolling greens, and the dryness with near constant humidity in the air. It helped feel fresh after a nice, prolonged treasure hunting session in the southern regions of Ahza, to feel the rain fall down upon your pelt, cleansing it fully.
The stormlands were a spectacle all their own she had to admit that though they did not quite appeal as much as the desert dunes, she did love to watch the thunder bear down upon the green flat lands and valley in front of her. Sometimes, she wouldn't even seek cover from the rain, and she's sit there among the green grass, watching, waiting, scenting the air.
The duality of the region was something she'd just never found elsewhere.
