Midus, as indecisive as ever, isn't entirely sure where they want to travel next after Silveil, and isn't quite ready to leave Silveil itself anyway. The city of eternal night is huge, bustling and overwhelming, so they have only explored a tiny part of it so far. There are still rumoured markets they wish to find - one that sells lanterns of cleverly spun glass, another filled with pigments and alluring paintings, and yet another that apparently hawks a smoked fish so delicious that the consumer falls into a brief coma. Of course, Midus has no idea how many of these stories are actually true, but if they never pursue them, they will never find out.

 

And so they make tentative plans for after the miasma clears: ask directions for all the major markets, and browse through one each day. If possible, they will ask around for smaller markets worth visiting too. Vendors are often quite friendly and willing to chat after you've made a purchase, they have discovered. If - or rather when, because Midus has also discovered how exhausting this constant social hub can be - the city gets too much, they will slip away to explore the quieter shores of the Starlake instead, or go further into the mysterious forests. The latter is both comforting and frightening - dark forests are familiar to them, but the ones of Silveil are very different to the ones of Enmir - so if Felicity is still around, they will ask her to go with them.

 

Their thoughts wander from their planning to their friend. While they are looking through the markets, they will keep an eye out for a gift for her too. That would be nice. Midus makes their resolutions silently in their head, and waits patiently for the months to pass.
