The weeks were getting longer and longer, Mina thought at first that her time in Silveil was all fun and games with some work here and there. But now that time was passing slower she began to be homesick. Silveil was a beautiful city full of life, danger, thievery, gambling and it never slept. But her heart missed home where her half sister was. She had experienced all the night life she could. But what she missed was the falling petals of Faerindell and the beautiful flora that surrounded you there. She also missed sunshine, something she hadn’t seen here not even once. Only artificial light given by lanterns, torches and then there was all the bioluminescent life and starry skies. One could also not forget the beautiful moonlight that always surrounded the sky. But she missed that warmth from the sun and the smell of the sweet and floral scent of flowers. It’s not like bioluminescent mushrooms smell wonderful, they might look super cool but the smell is left to be desired. Alas she would be stuck here for much longer and time seemed at a standstill during the miasma season. She loved writing letters to loved ones far away and was  hoping maybe that would cure her homesickness, Mina set off with a feathered pen and an empty ink pot.

Minako found the perfect spot to maybe inspire her to write a letter to her half sister Kanako which she had met while she was traveling, sharing one same parent. Ever since then they had become fast friends and wrote to each other often keeping in touch. Whenever possible she would have a picnic with her sister under the eldertree in Faerindell. Thinking about those sweet moments Mina felt more inspired to write her letter. She didn’t want to worry her sis too much about how sad she really was. She looked towards the ocean and took out a small blanket on the sand to land down. Minako wasn’t much of a fan of having sand stuck in her fur. The moon made the water shimmer as if there were millions of diamonds in the water. This made her smile and cheered up her mood a bit more. She really did enjoy this beautiful scenery after all and maybe she was being overly dramatic having spent more time indoors lately to finish her projects. Maybe a night out on the beach is just what she needed. Taking out her feathered pen, her paper and her inkwell she was ready to pour her heart to her sister. But to her dismay and horror she had no ink left !!!!!!!! How could she forget about the ink? She slapped her hand in her face, this after all was not going well.

Getting up and leaving her things behind except her inkpot she figured she might as well try to find something around that could be used as ink. It’s not like she hadn’t done it before. Getting tired and not finding anything useful as she kept tripping on mushrooms she lost her nerves. This place was horrible and she wanted to go home. She no longer thought the starry skies and moonlit nights were worth it.  What was worse now her fur was stained with some sort of bioluminescent colour that had come from one of the mushrooms she had tripped on. Upset and wanting to get rid of it as soon as possible she ran for the beach. Soaking her bits of fur that were now stained and glowing in the water. Something else happened, not only was her fur glowing but now it was also full of a shimmering compound. “That’s it I’m GOING HOME “ she yelled. After taking a few deep breaths her temper soothed a bit and then the idea came to her. But what if she used that for ink?

Going back where she found lots of mushrooms previously she grabbed one and brought it back to her spot and then she got a bit of shimmering seawater managing to mix both together. She had ink, one of the most beautiful inks she ever saw. It glowed and had a shimmer . Who knew that would work? She was sure Kanako would love it. It was very unique unlike the usual black ink she would use. If only her half sister really knew the story how she discovered it. Maybe she would leave that story for the next time. After all she had no idea how to get that bioluminescent residue off her fur. She figured that someone in Silveil City would have an idea how to get it removed, especially one of the locals she had befriended during her time here. Or at least she would hope so. But that was the last thing on her mind now. Slowly writing her letter which she restarted a few times not sure if she could find the right words not to make her sister worry. But after a while she got into it and the words were flowing. She told her about the scenery hoping one day she would also get to visit and see it for herself. She described bits and pieces of her daily life working at an atelier and how sometimes her fingers hurt so much after pricking them too many times with needles. The next thing she told her of her fun adventures with the locals which usually involved more illicit activities which you could never get away with in any other place. Having finally finished writing the letter she thought maybe this place isn’t so bad after all it was sure more fun and dangerous than back home. Putting the finishing touch to the letter a tear fell and left a spot on her signature and not realizing it she wrapped it up and put a beautiful shimmering ribbon around it. Hoping her sister would keep it and use it as a hair ribbon. Now all that was left was finding a person to bring it to her.
