On her last trip to Silveil City Mina had taken quite an interest in the local lifestyle. This time she decided to visit the city longer and engage with the locals. Her mentor had brought her along to settle during the miasma season as she had gotten a contract to produce attires for a shoppe. The little one was thrilled to be back in  the city that never slept even though it was always night around. Who wouldn’t want to be in a place where there were always beautiful stars shining in the sky. Some would be disturbed by most of the activities in this place especially considering it’s well known for it’s thieving and gambling. But in Minako eyes it made it all that more exciting. The last time she was here she came only for a specific purpose and for a quick trip so she did not get to enjoy the ongoings of the city. But this time she was here for a while and Mina would be sure to partake in some not so legitimate activities. In fact she found it absolutely thrilling. I mean who wouldn’t want to engage in some thievery at night.

On most days she was sent out for errands to pick up supplies for her mentor which sent her to many different parts of the city. At first it bothered her a little to travel alone in these dark streets but she has learned over time the do’s and don’ts of the place. Besides, her little brave heart kept the adrenaline pumping which made her less afraid as time went by. She was also enjoying the stars, finding them magical and how they could be seen at any time of day. There truly was no place like Silveil City. So far she had managed to stay out of trouble but with her little adventuring soul it was only a matter of time before trouble found her.

She was often sent to this shoppe that sold the tread that was needed by her teacher and almost every day she went there and always noticed these rough looking Elnin engaging in what seemed to her some sort of dice game. They were assembled around a table with some barrel stools looking very rough. Some had scars, while others carried weapons and one even had an eye patch. To most kittoms that would be a bunch of rift rafts they would avoid and just keep to their task but that day Mina decided she would ask them what game they were playing. “Hello” she said to them. At first they ignored her but as soon as one of them dropped the dice off the table and it rolled to Minako's feet and stopped they all turned around and looked at her. The one with the eye patch addressed her “Hey, little one think you can bring that back here before we rough you up if you don’t”, normally that would send any kittom running but Mina was way more interested in their game to be afraid. “Sure” she said “only if you let me join your game”. They all burst out laughing but soon their laughter died as they noticed the little one was not lying. “This is no place or game for a little one like you” one said with a big scar running up his arm. Getting braver Mina replied “Well then I guess this is mine then” she bent down and picked up the dice. Ready to take a run for it as she saw them whisper from the corner of her eyes. “Why don’t you join us then but the stakes are pretty high, do you have any coin to bet?” She reached into her satchel and grabbed what coin had been handed to her to purchase the materials needed by her mentor. Worst that would happen to her is she would get scolded for having lost it and probably she would have to work all night to make up for it. But the rush she felt was much more satisfying in the moment.

“If I win I want that dice, '' she said to them as they burst out laughing thinking that this little kittom would never beat them. They set a seat for her and explained how the game worked, rolling the dice in your hand and throwing it on the table and whoever got the highest number would win that round. If there was a tie then there would be a reroll between those players. After a few rounds Mina was doing great and even none of them could believe it. Turns out she might be lucky after all and who said a kittom couldn’t play this game. The one with the eye patch smirked at her and patted her head even though he couldn't believe she was good at this game. When the game came to an end she had gathered all the coins around the table and the mood was getting sour, I mean after all how could a little kittom who didn’t really belong there had beaten all of them. The eye patch elnin smirked at her and gave her a wink “I think it’s time we wrap this up and head to the tavern and not let her completely empty our pockets I still want to enjoy a few pints of beer this evening.” He patted her head once more and handed her the dice “you earned it well little one now skitter home before you run into more trouble” handing her the dice as he lightly shoved her forward. She smiled watching them head in another direction as she looked into her paws at the dice she had won. Never mind the winnings she had gotten, she was more interested in the dice. It had been well used as its corners were starting to be rounder and most of the colour on it had changed and was scuffed. But to her it was precious and she had enjoyed the game. Who could be so lucky to have rolled 6 so many times in a row?

Mina hadn’t kept track of time and by the time she made it to the shoppe it had closed. She would be going home empty handed and be scolded by her teacher but in the end she wouldn’t mind much the scolding as she had gotten a new game to play with.
