Beatrix had finally made her choice of where she thought she belonged. But before she could fully settle in Bellmoril, she had left a few things behind at her old nursery where she spent most of her kittom years until recently. Bixy figured it was time to gather whatever belongings she left behind before it would be too late to gather them as the miasma season was about to be upon Eyre once again.

Her trip back to Faerindell had been pretty easy as she had kept to the road. She had noticed along the way that the farmers were getting ready to harvest all the crops. She had seen a few farmers gathering along the way from Bellmoril but she knew that most of the crops were gathered in Faerindell. It brought back some memories of her time spent here where she would help every year. But this year things were different she was ready to leave this place behind and to settle into her role of an apprentice librarian. Her lifestyle was very different from before where she spent most of her time in the fields and now she was always indoors with old books and her mentor. She found the breath of air quite calming and refreshing. She could smell the crops in the air and the flowers that engulfed Faerindell. The air always tasted sweet and fragrant. Part of her was slightly sad to be saying goodbye to this place but nothing compared to having found the place you belonged to.

From afar she heard something loud crash. Before she even knew what she was doing Beatrix found herself running towards the sound of the crash. Her instincts were stronger than her fear. When she arrived at the scene, Bix noticed a farmer's cart had crashed as one of the back wheels had broken. The way it had crashed the cart had completely lost all of it’s cargo. She knew this would take hours to fix and to gather all the crops again into a wagon. She knew there was no way all of this could be done by the farmer alone before nightfall. Bixy did not hesitate to offer a hand. The farmer smiled at her and thanked her and proceeded to ask her to help her with the wheel first. Since once the cart would be full there was no way anyone could attempt to lift it to fix the wheel. She wasn’t sure either if she could be of much help since after all she was only a kittom. She offered to look around first to see if there would be more capable hands in the area to help them.

She had been wandering around the road for what seemed like ages but she never saw a soul on the road. She wondered if it was even worth it to keep on looking and maybe she had gone the wrong way to find help. Beatrix took a deep breath as she was getting exhausted from having wandered around. Her trip had already taken a toll on her and she wasn’t sure how much longer she could keep on going. But her desire to help was much stronger than her fatigue. Before her legs were about to give out she found a clearing where she then noticed some Elnins in a field still gathering crops.  She yelled out as loud as her lungs would let her, it took a few tries but she finally caught the attention of the workers. They came up to her and she explained the situation and little did she know that the field farmers worked on the same farm as the one with the broken cart. They had a few tools with them which she thought could be of use to try and put back the wagon. They all rushed back as fast as they could knowing it was time lost  to gather the fields and get back the crops to the farm. Unfortunately this would be that last cargo and gathering they would be doing for the day as the sun was about to set. Bix felt horrible she hadn’t crossed paths earlier or hadn’t found help fast enough. Having done that kind of work before she knew all time was precious and none could be afforded being wasted. But nothing made her happier than lending a hand. She had read a book or two about fixing wheels on carts but it seemed she didn’t need to put her knowledge to work as everyone already seemed to know how to handle the situation. All that was left was to help gather back all the fallen produce. She was eager to get the job done as it meant maybe she wouldn’t have to walk back in the darkness on the road to the village, knowing sometimes the roads could be scary at night.

The wheel had been fixed so it meant she could now help put back the crops in the wagon. Everyone gathered and helped to put back cargo. Bixy had forgotten how much work it was to lift and pack things into a cart. She was even breaking a sweat and she couldn’t remember the last time she had done such manual labour that was physically straining. Most of her time was spent amongst books now and she mostly sat around during the day doing the work her mentor asked her to do. The most she ever lifted sometimes was a pile of books that Beatrix was told to put back on the shelf once Jayce was done with them. But lifting a stack of books was nothing compared to the labour of field work and farming. She was already tired from her journey and she wasn’t even sure if she was going to be able to keep on going after she was done helping. Her little legs didn’t seem to have much energy left to bring her anywhere else. It also occurred to her that she hasn't really eaten much during her journey as her stomach started to protest and everyone heard the loud noise. Embarrassed, Bix started to rub her belly hoping her stomach would stop rumbling but everyone broke into a loud laughter. One of them smiled at her and said “Don’t worry we will give you a nice warm meal once we are done here for all your help little one” She then felt a pat on her head and smiled back. Before she knew it they were done and one of them helped her up on the back of the wagon where she sat in a pile of crops nestling herself as they began the ride to the village. Her eyes started to shut as she saw the sun coming down heading into town and she fell asleep nicely cozied up. As she dreamt she almost felt sad to leave this life behind and to be ready to keep changing her life. She was beginning to enjoy the journey a lot more and the hands-on type of work then simply being locked up in a library. She opened her eyes again when they had made it to the village, where she figured she should have a conversation with her mentor about being able to adventure some more while he stayed amongst the books. The day had passed and the rest could wait, all she wanted now was some warm food in her belly.
