With the gentle winds blowing past his nose, his back rests against the waves near the shore of Palu'au. It pulled and pushed Citron, like a mother rocking their child in their arms, slowly lulling him to sleep. After all this travel, it was nice to rest his aching body in the waters of his home. The scent of sea breeze shapes his dream, and he feels like he's floating in the air. It's a pleasant dream, until another joins his side, with gilded anima the color of gold. She's cuddling up to the orange kit, and suddenly this dream was far too much for his little heart to handle. He could feel his stomach cinch in pain, the affection from the one he's rejected for so long surprisingly having such a negative affect on him. Truly, he's taken a liking to her presence, but for some reason... He just can't bring himself to acknowledge it. After all, she was so full of life, of love, something that he simply lacked. To persue her, it just didn't sit right with him.
Green optics snap open and Citron flails, water pulling him under. His panicked, frenzied state only does harm for him, inhaling quite a bit of the sea. He manages to swim upwards and poke his head out, coughing frantically as the waves continue to push him onto the shore. The warm sand on his torso and paws sticks, a pain to brush out later. He's far too lazy at the moment to pull himself up and take refuge at a nearby shack, accepting the sunlight pouring down on his body to warm his backside. The kittom is mentally exhausted already, from the (not-so) jarring dream, and the water hacked from his lungs. Deep down, he knows why she appeared in his dreams, but his refusal to advance any further was just him trying to play into his own beliefs about others.
He can't even enjoy his home anymore, her memory always plaguing him.
