Zevija’s landscape isn’t one you’d consider “forgiving,” and perhaps that’s what drew Ashe to it. They considered themself a bit of a rebel, after all - who needs the bright pink leaves and lush forests of Faerindell? That’s for babies! Not tough Kittoms like them. They were contrarian by nature. Miles and miles of bleak stone and volcanic activity, not for the faint of heart - now, that made for a real adventure!

So Zevija had always captured Ashe’s imagination, and they longed to visit after hearing many tales of the place from their older half-sibling, Rhea, who had adventured there on a few occasions. They even spent hours on rainy days doodling the Eldertree, its bark the color of bleached bones and its leaves a vibrant slash of crimson, or made drawings of themself bravely crossing a rocky canyon by a dead branch. 

However, reality is often different from our imaginings. Truth be told, Ashe hates hot weather... so spending a day under Zevja’s baking sun would most likely leave them huffing and sweating under their dark fur. There’s no relief to be found from the heat to be found from the geysers, spewing hot steam and sulfur into the vast and pitiless sky. Shade would be sparse, aside from what’s granted by an errant outcrop of rock jutting towards the sky.

Perhaps they would find their true affinity for the region not on the surface, but underground - in cool, winding caverns where even the pitiless sun couldn’t reach. There, they could slink about in the darkness, skirting around the edges of stalls and crystal vendors in the vast underground cities, taking in the unique surroundings with their wide red eyes. They’d save up their pocket change to purchase the perfect stone, one small enough for their little paws to bring back to Rhea, as a testament to their bravery and the adventure they’d had.

For now, visiting Zevija is only a dream to the little Kittom - but perhaps one day it will become a reality!
