His beautiful birthplace, home to wonderful citizens and such comforting shores. He remembers the first time he walked across that soft sand, how each particle clung to his paw like a loving hug that just wasn’t ready to let go. The peaceful ebb and flow of the water, a few other children splashing about in the water and shrieking with excitement when the tide would draw higher. It was his home, and he adored it more than anything in the world.

When Citron got older, he was allowed to explore more of Palu’au Islands without adult supervision. This meant stumbling across oddly-dressed strangers that seemed to be a bit too excited to be here. What were they? Tourists ? He doesn’t remember what the locals called them. They flooded his wonderful island, chatting and drinking in the lush environment. These people wouldn’t have been so bad, and at first they really weren’t. Not until he couldn’t enjoy his day-to-day activities, how he couldn’t swim in the peaceful waters known only to those native to the land. There was laughter and loudness everywhere, and frankly... he had gotten sick of it! It didn’t help that those who lived here had made business on the countless folks who wanted a vacation, in fact he largely blamed those that housed these types of people for disturbing his peace!

Perfecting baby-doll eyes and taking advantage of his cute little features, Citron began to change. He would offer polite company and help to those who sought it, and promised that he knows Palu’au better than any. The kittom swore that he had access to exclusive areas that no other tourist could see, and they were all naive enough to believe him. Unfortunately, those who trusted in his words had never come back. It was ideal, just something to be swept under a shrouded mist and never spoken of again. No one even suspected him of anything either, and how could they? He was virtually perfect!

Fortunately for those who believed him, no harm had come to them. If anything, it was one of the most thrilling experiences of their lives, and at the lowest points, where none from the high ground could see, was a cave circling around the underside of Palu'au, leading them back to the resort.

If those who plan on visiting Palu’au come across this boy, it’s best if they turn on their heel and reject any offers thrown their way immediately, unless they're in for the delight of a lifetime.

If only they knew.
