He returned to the apple tree where he has been so scared the last night.
He found back his lantern and climbed on the branches once again to take all the apples he could reach.

Morning sun helps to consider problems and fear under another light.
He realised that the scary beasts he saw at night were probably -in fact- quite... small.

He approached the burrow slowly, and discovered a very small family of critters.
He offered apple slices to the bigger one, probably the mum... And understood that it should be very hard for her to find some food in this empty forest ! He didn't see anything to eat on the way, no berries, not a lot of bugs either... This poor mother probably had to go all the way to the haven and break the baskets to feed her children !!

So, he decided to try something. He had no clue about how it worked, but he took the two bigger cristal shards he had collected and tried to insert and stuck them into the stone, just above the burrow.
Mana crystal seemed to have a so great and good influence on the environement he studied yesterday that... Maybe, the shard could help some berries to grow around ?

He then headed back to the Academy, thinking a lot.
He thought about his task, about the small critters family and... he thought about Hedera too. His foster mum had some very hard work herself to take care of so many kittoms along with the caravan business, and...

Well. Months ago, he decided to learn magic to be able to help her. Now...
He started to think that maybe it was not the best way to help. Maybe he was already able to help her without magic : Taking care of the kittoms and playing with them was really fun for him. He remembered the joyful party they all had last Starfall... and...
If he took care about the smaller ones, it would spare Hedera more time to focus on her herbalist tasks.

Deep in his thoughs, he almost missed to make a report to the Librarian, Meylir.
He had... a little bit of trouble to explain why he came back with such a small crystal shard... And why his precious notebook was missing a page. ^ ^;;
