Submission (#245) Approved

He didn't remember well all that happened. He was frightened by the beast. He hardly saw it, but IT WAS TERRYFYING. He ran in the dark... probably dropped his lantern and few apples on the way, and reached back the haven where he hid, shaking, under several blankets... Until silence finally win and that he felt asleep.

The next morning, he opened the tent to look at the rising sun and thought.

In fact he really thought a lot.
He first thought that he had made it. He had done the task he was meant to do. He could just, take all his stuff and head back to the academy. It was now just a few hours walk away. Not far. Easy.
And he could forget what happened at night and scared him so much.

But it just didn't sound right.
Some small details, blurred by the fear, were coming together to him again, and... At some point, he knew what he had to do.
He knew what was right.

So, he started gathering wood all around the tent. The baskets were empty and he couldn't do anything about it, but with some dry wood inside the tent, the next traveller will be able to start a fire.
Then, using the wicker of both baskets, he buildt up a new one, bigger and an hanging one this time, so no animal would come up and pierce it again.
Well, it was still empty, but while working on it he started to think that, once back in the academy, he could make some food to come back and put inside... It would be a lovely excuse for a walk in the sunny and golden forest.

He also riped off a page of his note book to draw a small map on it. The map was showing the way from the tent to the apple tree and a small river not far.  Smiling, he also gave some special recommandations about the tree and the critters that lived next to it. If a traveller came before he had the time to fill the basket... At least he would know where to find a little bit of apples.

And at last, he packed back all his stuff and leaved the haven.
But... He didn't took the road back to the Academy.
He had something else in mind first.
