Finally, after his long travel from Ahza through Kyendi, he and his mom made it back to Silveil, where Zuri has to report back to work about the trip. He did feel a little different now after his travels. He went on his journeys away from his mom to do a quest that got him his guitar, and it was a dangerous journey too that he came close with his fears. It was a crazy quest to remember how he just tossed the letter to the guy’s face and got his money for the guitar. And then Zuri told him to learn and appreciate the nature of Kyendi, which was a pleasant trip for him as he was able to help a flowering plant and play for some of the animals. And being back in Silveil made him appreciate the Shimmerwood like how he enjoyed Kyendi.

While waiting for his mom with her business, he wandered around the city to see what had changed while he was away. The glowing lights seemed brighter to attract business to their shops and clubs and the moon was full which means an even bigger reason to party. He looks over the bridge in seeing the bioluminescent algae washing up on the shores where most of the party festivities are taking place and smelling the scent of delicious food serving there. Being in the city made him remember a delicious mushroom pasta dish that he enjoys here. It’s fresh pasta with a blend of different mushrooms found here in the woods, but he realized at home they rented here that they were missing one variety of mushroom he needs. “I can’t believe we don’t have it… and I have to get it from that guy…” It made him grumble on how he has to go and ask that grouchy elnin from the mushroom farm. He rolled his eyes and went to get a bag to carry the mushrooms because he wanted to make that dish after traveling for so long.

It has been some time since he’s been in the Shimmerwood, but it was familiar and pleasant to return here again. The endless night and the dense forest made it difficult to see through, but he can always rely on the glowing mushrooms guiding the path through. The bright fireflies were flying around, and it made his tail wiggle around on how pretty they are that he went chasing after them. It was one of the things he likes about Silveil than anywhere else. Zimri walked along the path as he follows the signs to the mushroom farms, where he already sees old man McKinley scaring off another elnin who wanted to buy some of his mushrooms. “Yeah… I’m not going to do that.” He shook his head and looked over at the mushroom logs that are piled up high. It was a dangerous mission, but at this point, he knew he was going to get a no and decide to take action into his paws.

Zuri tries to make sure that Zimri is unaware of her work, but he knew his mom is a thief and a Thieves Guild member. He read some of the books she hid away from him and learned some techniques, and he will put them to good use. “Okay… surveillance. I need to locate my target.” Zimri nods his head as he looks around and locates one of the piles of logs with the mushrooms he needs for pasta. He moves close to the ground as he crawls his way over, hiding behind the trees and bushes along the way. Stealth is the game now, and he mentally tells himself to be stealth while peeking over to see where farmer McKinley is while blowing away a little firefly that decides to land on his nose. “I can’t afford to be seen…” He quickly ducks down when he saw the farmer walking around and checking on the logs nearby. His heart races as he’s feeling so afraid he’s going to get caught. Slowly, he looks over from around the tree and sees him walking away.

Nodding his head, he made his move again as he crawls over slowly to the first log pile and looks over at the mushrooms that are growing. “Not the ones… where is it again?” Stares at the glowing golden mushrooms and he rolled his eyes that he went to the wrong one. Zimri looks around and saw that the ones that had the specific mushrooms he’s looking for was a little away. It made him huff in irritation that he went to the wrong pile and looks over where the farmer is now. McKinley is far away again, and he took his chance now to crawl over to the log pile. He made sure to hide behind trees, bushes, and other mushroom logs to make sure that he’s not caught.

“Just a little bit more…” Zimri glances over to make sure that McKinley is busy, and he was getting close to the log pile. He grins that he made it and looks at the mushrooms. They are a warm brown color with soft pink spots, and they give the pasta a very meaty texture that makes it the best. It was essential to get it now. “How many… Forte, are you ready?” He stares down, and the little pomu peeks out from the shadow and gives a thumbs up that he is ready. At first, Zimri plucks a couple of mushrooms and toss them to Forte, but now he had a thought that he doesn’t want to come back over here again so soon. “He won’t miss these…” Now he was greedy and took a few more as he moves around the log pile and tosses them to Forte.

“What’s goin’ on over here?”

Zimri froze, hearing the disgruntled voice of farmer McKinley. “Darn! I was getting too loud.” He moves his paw over his mouth and panics about how he’s going to get caught. “What do I do! What do I do?!” He was trying to think of ways on how to get out of it without getting caught. The farmer was getting close as he could hear those boots crunching on the grass towards his direction. He stares down at Forte, and his eyes widen at the brilliant light bulb idea. “Hey! Get me my slingshot!” “Pomu!” The little pomu moves into the shadow storage and rummage through the things until he pushes up the slingshot. Zimri grabs it, loads up the sling with a rock, and aims it over at a nearby mushroom log. He shoots at it, making it fall a little bit, but it was enough to make farmer McKinley look over that direction. “What in tarnation?” His precious mushrooms were falling over, and he hurried over to save them. It was the opportunity Zimri needed as he took off running away from the mushroom farm. He hid behind a giant cluster of glowing mushrooms and looks through the bags to see how many he has and smiles. “That was too close!” He will never tell his mom about it, but he was happy to get the mushrooms they need to make the pasta dinner as he hurries back home to the city.
