Outfit paragraph (306 words):

“Why is it raining?!?” Thankfully, Zimri was dressed for the weather even though it was hell for him. He was wearing a weathered black cloak with the hood up that is treated to prevent against the element and a silver star clasp around his neck. It even has ear covers on the hood to keep his ears dry. Zimri hated so much when his ears get wet because the water would just get in his ears, but it helps block his mom’s yelling which made it the best. It was something that his mom bought for him at the beginning of their journey from Silveil as it has dark gray stars stitch work along the hem of the cloak and hood. Around his mouth, he has a black scarf that he brought along to protect against the sand element of the desert, but it was getting wet from the sudden downpour. For his paws, he wore black slip on style boots that seemed to be doing a good job from the rain. He couldn’t say the same thing for the socks he wore as they were already waterlogged, but he wasn’t slipping on the wet grass fields as he trudges through. He kept his little messenger bag underneath his body to make sure the contents stay dry from the rain, but not getting dragged. It had seen some adventure as some of the threading is loose around the flap cover, especially the darker star stitching that he tried to fix on his own. It’s something that he can’t get damaged even though the green canvas material will keep it dry. It would just take forever for it to be dry completely. He was so glad he had these with him before coming out after realizing that he was going dangerously close to the Storm Lands.

Zimri was enjoying his stay in Ahza while his mom was here for work at Bejali. The capital city is beautiful as it was the glistening oasis jewel of the dry desert. The sandstones are carved with historical details of the culture and tall palm trees providing shade along with the vibrant yellow sheets tied above the marketplace to provide shade. It’s still hot with sand everywhere, but the shades were nice and comforting. It was the opposite of the starry night city of Silveil, and it intrigued him incredibly. He ventured off into the shops and markets where most of the citizens will be. It’s what he has done for most of his time because his mom will be away for long periods of time to do her work that she will never discuss with him. It was mostly to keep Zimri oblivious about the thieving tasks she has to do, but he was not just a naïve kittom. No, he has his dreams and aspirations!

Walking around the open marketplace, he found the local tavern where he will hear some of the local musicians perform for the crowd. He almost missed it because the mudbrick exterior matched with everything in the city, but something tells him that the bones hanging on the outside seemed to be a good sign it was the tavern. Kittoms aren’t supposed to be there, but all that Zimri had to do is look at the part that he belongs in there. He stood up tall, ears perked up, and walk with confidence. Of course, some customers wonder what was wrong with the way he walked, but they don’t bother the strange kittom. He would sit up close and watch them, trying to move his little paws to play just like the guitarist, and smiles at them. “I need to get money to buy one… somehow.” For sure, he knew that they didn’t have much money for one when Zimri wanted to get the nicest one in stores. But he has no idea how.

As time passed by in the tavern and the band stopped playing for the day, Zimri was on his way to leave. He noticed a job board where some of the adults have gathered to see and taken some papers. “Oh! It’s like those job board things.” It was his way of getting money. He walked over to see if most of the other adventurers had left and seen what was on the board. “There has to be something that I can do…” There were some difficult jobs such as working at a store and escorting to another city. He shook his head, knowing he was too little for that. But there was one that was buried underneath the other pinned tasks. Zimri reached up on his toes and yanked it down to read.

“Deliver a letter up north?”

His ears twitch, and he tilts his head in, wondering why it needs to be delivered as he reads it. It was a delivery up north, which doesn’t sound so bad. He wasn’t aware of the grounds so well, but Zimri shrugs at the red danger markings as he took it down. “I delivered a lot of times before. This is gonna be easy!” Those were the last words of the young and ambitious kittom as he hurried out to his journey.

He was so glad he had these with him before coming out after realizing that he was going dangerously close to the Storm Lands.

Following the directions on the map, he went north of Ahza, wholly washed away from the extreme rainfall. He looks up in seeing that it was lush grasslands and trees dues to the rain, but what was dangerous to see is the dark patches sporadically on the ground. Even some of the trees seemed blackened and it made him scared. “What is wrong with this weather? I bet that’s the reason why this guy wanted to send someone out here!” He bundles up his cloak to try and keep himself dry, but it was inevitable with the downpour of rain. His bright eyes stare out, and he looks around all while trying to find signs of a nomadic elnin who needs to receive the letter he’s carrying. He was able to walk around and stare among the land and saw no signs of where the elnin might be. “He… he has to be out here somewhere…” His paws were quivering, afraid of what might be out here among the storm clouds.

It felt like hours searching through the fields according to the directions. Already he could hear the crackling sounds in the air, and he was terrified. He was hungry, making his way to be underneath a tree to eat. When he checked on his lunch, the sandwich he bought from the marketplace got waterlogged almost immediately when his pomu, Forte, brought it out for him. Everything just seemed useless by now when he wanted to deliver the letter to earn his money for a guitar. It was so disheartening that he was dragging his little feet through the wet grass and barely glancing for any signs. “This is just… impossible. Why can’t I find him? …and mom is going to be so mad at me for being away for so long too.” He yelps at the brewing thunder. His tail tucked between his legs as he balled up on the ground and cries. “I… I can’t do this!” Forte popped out of his shadow when he heard Zimri crying and frowns. “Pom pom…” He frowns as he pets him, trying to let him know that he’s not alone out here. “F-Forte…” It was a relief to see that he’s here now, and hugs him tightly in his arms that he’s not alone at all. “Thank you. We just need to shove that letter to that nin’s face, and get out of here.”

Zzzzzzzz…

His ears perked up in hearing the crackling noise in the air, and his fur was starting to raise from static. “….ahhh!!” Zimri just bolted away from where he was, and there was a loud lightning crash right behind him when he jumped out and ducked down. The area was scorching, and he slowly looks back to see the new smoking scorch ground. “W-We were just there.” It almost made him pale at sight, and he almost did until Forte smacks his face to snap him out of it. “Ah! Yeah, you’re right. I can’t do that here.” Zimri ran off the other way to see if the elnin might be here.

Luckily for him, the storm is calming down and moving away up north to the Storm Lands. Just up ahead, there was a strange-looking elnin who was wandering around the lands, and it has to be the guy. “Oh! Well, what do we have he-!” Suddenly, he was smacked in the face with the letter by the angry, tiny kittom. “Here’s your stupid letter!” Zimri was done with his day as he huffs away and going back to the city to get his money and then buy his guitar.
