Firefly was a bit of a diva when it came to the places he visited. He’d gotten so used to the modern comforts of a highly populated, never-closed city like Silveil that anywhere else that didn’t meet those same standards tended to annoy him.

Ealei wasn’t awful… but it left much to be desired in his eyes. While heights never really bothered him, he couldn’t stand having to rely on the often flimsy walkways intertwining through the tree villages to get around. It was just so inconvenient. Why couldn’t there just be ground? And somehow, his paws felt constantly wet, even if he was never actually touching the watery forest floor below. He can’t even imagine how horrible it’d be to fall into it. It all made him ponder why anyone would want to actually populate this weird forest in the middle of the ocean. Or, at the very least, he’d rather shack up on one of the flat-topped mountains that he could see on the edges of the treeline. 

One thing that could be said about this region is its impressive Elder Tree. Or rather, the Elder Tree. He often didn’t care much for nature, but even he would be humbled by witnessing Yggdrasil itself. The tree of all trees, the beginning of their world, Yggdrasil. It’s a story all Elnin learned in kithood. What a strange place for it to exist, surrounded by water on all sides without even proper soil to root itself in. It was almost poetic, in a way. But it still stands that if he wanted to see the ocean, he’d take a trip to Palu’au and let himself be pampered at the five-star resorts and walk the beaches without fear of falling off a wooden bridge.

Maybe he’d take a vacation after this...
